Question about HP LaserJet 2420 Printer
Sounds like you have installed a rebuilt/remanufactured cartridge that is missing the chip on the nose of the cartridge. Check the front of the cartridge for a small green peice that looks like a computer board. I am assuminy the memory error your getting is a "10.10" or starts with a 10.
Hopr that helps you

E604 The image memory has a fault.
The RAM has a fault.
The expansion memory is not mounted properly.
E315 The image data coding mechanism has an error.
The coding chip has an error.
The image memory has an error.
If you have installed expansion memory I would turn off your Canon, uninstall the memory and turn on the Canon.
If the error is gone, try to print something.
If you are able to print without error then try re-installing the RAM and make sure it's in correctly.
Then see if the error is gone and try to print.
