Problem with Cintiq 12wx

I can't seem to get my cintiq to act as a dual monitor. It only responds as a tablet for my primary monitor. I can't find any solutions online.

I had the same issue and it took me a couple of hours to find the solution, until I stumble upon this blog:

http://www.tomrichmond.com/blog/tag/wacom/

I have a Macbook Pro and use the DVI Cable. Here is this the solution:

"First, you need to change the tablet's focus from the Cintiq screen to the main desktop screen. This is easy to do, just open System Preferences>Wacom Tablet. Make sure you have highlighted the "Cintiq 12wx" on the "Tablet" window across the top part of the preference window, and then click on "Calibration". Change "Monitor" from "Cintiq (2)" to whatever your main display (1) is. What will happen now is that the Cintiq will act like a regular Wacom tablet and moving around on it will move the cursor on your main screen. Do not panic, this is expected. Now open System Preferences>Displays. You will see a window pop up on both monitors. The main one will be a little different, as it will have "Arrangement" and "Options" as choices not on the other box. Click "Arrangement" and drag the white menu bar from the left display square to the top of the right one. A red border appears on the display that is actively selected as the main desktop as you do this.
The result will be that now your menu bar and dock will be on your Cintiq, and the pen will again function correctly on the screen. Hide the dock if it's in your way. Again, this is a personal preference on may part and does not affect the functions of the Cintiq in any way."

Hope it helps!

Hi...there Jenn!
Go to your toolbar bottom r/h side, look for VGA Display Icon. Open it and look for dual monitor setup. It's might be what you has been looking for... If not, read your cintiq user guide... Have a nice day!

Wacom cintiq 12wx calibration

I had a similar issue using the 12wx with a 15" MacbookPro Retina. Screen displayed the desktop way too much to the left. I found that the refresh rate of 59.8 hertz seemed to not be compatible despite it automatically being set. After changing this to 74.9 Hertz, the desktop is now properly centered on the Wacom screen and can be calibrated now. Not sure if this applies to Windows machines but perhaps something to keep in mind.

I've had this same issue! My Wacom Cintiq 12WX tablet has been having this "Signal out of Range" issue all of the sudden with my Mac OSX Laptop. I've bought and tried new DVI cables and...

Hi 13ambreuer

"Signal out of Range"
is a problem between the graphics card, monitor, motherboard or graphics card port.
if you have to do troubleshooting on the monitor and display card, proved no problem to it. This means that the problem now is the motherboard and graphics card port.
(But should remember, problems ram, power supply and processor also causes the same error) * Sometimes *)
mean here you have to do the troubleshooting on all hardware on your computer

thnks&regards

Silver Cirlces when pen touches tablet

The solution is simple to your silver circle happening every time you click the screen. Go to Start>Control Panel and double click Pen and Input Devices. Click on the second tab in the Pen and Input Devices (Pointer Options) and uncheck all four of those top boxes. Voila! No more silver circles when you click!

If your tablet is acting buggy, try installing the latest driver from the Wacom.com website.

Cintiq 12wx

I had a similar problem with my cintiq 12WX - i have managed to sort this problem.
The way i did it was by going into CONTROL PANEL (please note i am using XP windows), then into DISPLAY, then into the last tab on the right aka SETTINGS. Once in SETTINGS go into the ADVANCED section, then click on the DISPLAY tab. In here you should have 3 things - monitor, panel and tv. The tv bit is irrelevant. Look at the MONITOR and PANEL tabs, if your wacom IS set up correctly when you click on the button (it is a circle with a line inside it) on the title (it will either be greeny/turquoise or red). If it is red, click it and the same button on the panel title will turn green aswell. Below the pictures of a computer and a laptop there should be 2 buttons that are the same for each. Currently, my almost working cintiq is set to having the button with two squares on it under the heading of 'MONITOR' and the button with a circle is on under the section entitled PANEL.
If this doesn't work I dont know what to suggest.
Hope this helps.
M
(p.s. you may have to improvise with the settings in the display bit to get it to work).

I had the same problem with the "signal out of range" box in the middle of the screen. I went to Display on Control Panel and clicked the Settings tab. Click the monitor icon for the Wacom tablet in the window (if you are using more than one monitor) and set the screen resolutioin to 1280 by 800 pixels. The "signal out of range" box disappeared.
