Where is the thermal fuse on a series 80 kenmore electric dryer. will this act as though the power is off? How can i test the fuse?

Yes, but there are several thermal limiters, they should reset when the unit cools, so likely that is not what is happening.... Forcefully turn the breaker FULLY off, and then back on, and test again...

The thermal limiters are located along the air flow path, typically downstream of your burner, the purpose is to prevent overheating and fire. These limiters stop the HEATING element and not the drum motor...

Hello, I think the fuse has blown in my series 80, Kenmore electric dryer. Can you please tell me what it looks like and the location of it. Thank you.

It's a thermal fuse and it is white plastic about an inch and a half long. has 2 wires going to it,usually lt.blue, If you remove the back panel of the dryer it is located near the dryer exhaust above the high limit thermostat.
If the thermal fuse is blown the dryer will not run.
Hope this helps.

Kenmore 70 Series Dryer not heating and not cutting off

I had an identical problem to yours this weekend with my Kenmore dryer. There were 2 problems.

1. Timer was broken. Does not advance to "OFF" position on timed dry, however it still works for auto-dry.

2. Thermal fuse was blown. Upon replacing, dryer heated up normally.

I believe when the timer broke, the dryer had kept running and blew the thermal fuse. On Sears' website, thermal fuse is $5.30, timer is roughly $80.

Kenmore series 80 gas dryer tumbles no heat

Yes. If the thermal fuse has no continuity, then the fuse is bad. Replacing it should get you back in action, barring any other defective items like the heating element, etc. Best wishes.

80 series kenmore dryer not heat

Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

Gas dryer will not heat up kenmore 80 series heavy duty 72822

Hello Friend, Your problem is very simple to fix. You're dryer needs a thermal fuse and or gas valve coils, both are very simple and affordable to replace. To replace the thermal fuse just remove back cover of dryer and look down where the air blows out. Now, just to the left where all the wires are you will see a white plastic part with two wires plugged into it. This part is called a thermal fuse. Just remove these wires and replace the thermal fuse. Now, if this don't solve the problem you will need a gas valve coil kit. To replace coils just remove front of dryer body and look below drum you will see the gas valve. The valve coils are located on top of valve (two little round black cylinders). It's simple, just remove the two screws from the little metal bracket that holds them down, unplug the wires from them and just lift them straight up off of the valve. Take notice that one has 3 wires and one has 2 wires. Just replace with new coils and plug wires back in and re-fasten metal bracket. Your dryer will run like new. Happy to help, Tim.

Inspect for breakage, and replace if needed. Happy to help, Tim.

No Heat

Hi, I worked on one of these yesterday and have found that the thermal fuse blows first. If your dryer has the lint filter on top then the thermal fuse is behind the back panel and is located on the same duct as the lint filter. It will usually have blue wires on it instead of black or red.
