This model of Pioneer has a common problem with a couple of fuses that are inside the unit mounted on the main circuit board that will blow. These are surface mounted fuses, and must be replaced with the same type of fuse. They are very small and white colored and require some good soldering skills and the proper soldering equipment do this job properly.

I work at an authorized Pioneer service center and have seen this problem many times. These units are very difficult to open up and work on. It is very easy to damage the ribbon cable that connects the flip out monitor to the main circuit board if not done perfectly.

What you can do as a work around for a short time, until you can get it in for repair, is this shortcut. It will restore your audio, but should not be considered a permanent fix.

At the amplifier (since it is easier to get at than the RCA cords coming out of the back of the Pioneer) you need to connect a jumper wire from the RCA ground on the jack to the power ground on the amplifier. The outer metal part of the RCA jack is the ground, the metal pin in the middle is the positive.

Remember, this is only a short term temporary work around and is not a permanent repair. You just need to supply the RCA output ground with a good ground.

The repair of replacing the surface mounted fuses can cost anywhere from $100 to $160, depending on the service center rates. Just don't wait too long, or play the amplifier too loud in the meantime.

Yes I could fix it for you, but I am in Texas and you would need to ship it to me and pay for the repair before it was shipped back.

I could probably do it for about $75 plus shipping back to you as long as this is the problem. Like I said before, it is a common problem with these, but it is possible that it could be something else, but that is unlikely.

Let me know and I will tell you where to send it. I would also need the harness from the car so I could test it after it is repaired to be sure it is fixed. Otherwise, you would get it back untested and no guarantee that it works.

Yes, $75 for the repair plus you will need to pay the shipping also.

Why does my pioneer deh-14ub only play bass through the RCA jacks

You need to go into the menu and check what the crossover levels are set for, you will find that the speakers are set to only reproduce the higher levels and not the bass.

Can i hook an ipod up through an aux cable that plugs in to the ipod . its the red and white aux cable and it plugs into the earphone place on an ipod

If you are talking about the cable I think you are, all you do is plug the red and white rca into the input of your choice on the back of your radio and the other end into your choice of audio output (anything with that size headphone port).

AVH-P5900DVD noise in RCA

there is diodes that you can change to stop the noice or even a capisitor but not fuses. if you look at the capsitors see if the tops of them are buldging or leaking. that is a sign of them being bad and will need to be replaced. the ones you want to look for will be right were the rca's come into the radio from the back.

you have to get an iPod cable that gives you RCA outputs. Just connect the RCA outputs from the iPod to the AUX inputs on the unit. I believe that should do it. Ebay sells the iPod cables, and most electronics stores should as well
