Question about ASUS NVIDIA Graphic Card

1 Answer

Asus motherboard p5gc-mx1333 and asus en8500gt v card

I cant get the nvidia installer to find the card... after restart

during install nvidia say "cant find compatible drivers on hardware"

and " windows doesnt recognize this device"

I tried updating drivers everywhere, everything is up to date...downloaded some other drivers but its starting to feel like a pretty random process due to my lack of knowledge...

...with so many to try I was wondering if there was a direct approach to finding what is missing. It should be easier they are from the same company right?

Thanks, puzzled Novice

First PC  right, not laptop. Take out you video card and find the exact model of the card. No go to the NVIDA website that you have liklly been to before and download the driver for the version of windows that you are using.  After downloading the driver(I place then on the Hard drive directly , easy to find) In Xp START - CONTROL PAMEL - INSTALL NEW HARDWARE - Have disk? NO - Find driver for you? NO - INSTALL tell it where the dribver is when asked. Hope this at least helps.   If the vidoeo came with the computer you can just go to the manufactor of the computer and with the make , model , and CPU slot number, look up the driver for the video instead of going to the  NVIDA site.

Hi,
You have told that blue screen comes only if you connect your nvidia display/graphics card. Usually Blue screen comes if there is some problem with the hardware or due to incompactible hardware drivers. Remove the nvidia card from you system. Reinstall your system and then install all the drivers present in your motherboard cd. After that go to nvidia website, download the latest driver for your nvidia display/graphics card driver. Now connect your nvidia hardware back to your motherboard. Before that clean the dust particles present in the motherboard connecting terminals, if any. Now boot your system into safe mode. Restart your system into normal mode, install the latest driver downloaded for your nvidia hardware. Now everything should work fine. If you get bluescreen again, remove the card from system, restart into safe mode, uninstall the driver. Check the hardware in someother system, to detect wheather the problem is with your nvidia card or not. I hope this will help you out.

Can I run two EVGA GeForce 260 GTS cards in crossfire on an ASUS Rampage MOBO?

This is an excellent question, basically "Can you run two Nvidia cards on a cross fire motherboard in a SLI configuration". My first thought was "No" but you should be able to still run a single Nvidia card.

From everything that I have collected the above is correct. Here is a reputable site that you can trust which has a spill on whether you can do this: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/246903-33-nvidia-graphics-card-crossfire-motherboard
