Question about Maytag 24 in. MDB4000 Built-in Dishwasher
My dishwasher isn't draining so we had to **** all the water out of the bottom with a shop vac. I just felt around to see if there was anything big in there obstructing it. Couldn't figure out how to get into the drain area. Tried to start the dishwasher up to see if while messing with bottom maybe loosened anything up that might have been obstructing it. When turing on noticed no water was going into dishwasher and it smelled like it was burning up and bottom element was sizzling. Do you think it is fixable or are we ready for a new one?
You may be due for a new d/w because this particular model has the pump & motor as an assembly. Only a qualified repairman would have to take a look, as it's quite complex to take apart. On the other hand, if you do call someone in, it may just a drain hose or simply something caught in the intake.
