Makes noises at start up and wont allow me to take pictures.
I started my camera and it took one picture and now it wont start back on. I makes funny noises as soon as i turn it on and then turns its self off. When it turns off sometimes i get a message that says "retry power on"

FIRST OF ALL CONNECT TO YOUR PC UPDATE YOUR VIRUS DEFINATION AND SCAN THE MEMORY TO RULE OUT ANY VIRUS.AFTER BACKING UP ALL YOUR PHOTOS FORMAT THE PHONE MEMORY AND THE MEMORY CARD AS WELL. THIS WILL SOLVE THE ISSUE. REGARDS. PLZ. RATE THIS
Not sure this will help you: In AF-S mode, the camera will not shoot until it acquires focus. Look on page 29 of the D80 manual. Now, does another lens make the same noise of only this lens. Can you try the lens on another camera? What this is attempting to do is eliminate the camera or, the lens, that way you know where to go next.
It's faulty stabilizer. The lens unit has to be changed. Contact your local Sony service center, but

This is mainly due to the slow shutter speed selected by your CAM. in low light situations the cam chooses a slow shutter speed to expose the image adequately. Any shakes that may have caused during the shutter operation will cause the funny images.
use tripod or other kind of support to your camera while shootiing in low light (indoors) without flash.
