I am replacing the radio on my daughters Accord with a OEM radio she purchased from LKQ. My question is do we need a code for the replacement radio or will the code found in the car work?

Hey, where she bought it from should have been able to give you a code from it, and sometimes the one on your vehicle will work.

But sometimes you do have to take it to the dealer and have them unlock the radio.

I do not have the code for my second hand 1999 Honda Accord DX radio. I have contacted Honda and dealership, they both cannot find the code for me. The serial # of the radio is F90163149. Honda has told me...

Honda do not make radios but affix their badge onto radios made by the well known makes. However the majority of  these Honda badged radios can NOT be decoded for free from anywhere on the Internet.

If the Honda Dealer cannot help you then your only solution now is to take it into a Decode Service ( or local Car Radio / Audio Store ) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the radio`s memory chip (EEPROM)

Can be done while-you-wait and shouldn`t cost too much

I need the code for radio 2002 acura mdx I have serial #

i have attached a link to a honda website that you can use to get the code that you need, or you can go to any honda/acura dealer with the serial # and proof of ownership(insurance card with vin#) they will give you the code that the dealer originally set. it will not work if you or someone else has change the code from the original,

hope this helps

Radio locked on purchased vehicle

To reset from ERROR 7 leave it SWITCHED ON ...UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself. This could be several hours.

Make sure you have the correct code.

Unfortunately Honda codes are very difficult to obtain for free from anywhere ...so try here first (for free)

https://radio-navicode.honda.com

If they cannot provide your code then you will have to try your HONDA Main Dealer or a Decode Service who will plug it into a laptop and electronically read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

I just got a honda accord coupe v6 and i have looked every where for the sticker that has the code for the sterio and its not there ... the serial number is 12114213 thank you

you can take that serial # to the dealer with proof of ownership and they will give you the code for it. that is if it hasn't been changed by someone after the dealer set it.. or you can try this website.

hope it helps

Code

if the code is not with the owners manual, the vin is not enough for the dealer to get the code. you will have to remove the radio to get #'s, then the dealer can give you the code.

I need radio unlock code for 1996 honda civic ex

Radio security codes from the factory are always included with the owner's manual. Many new car buyers remove the "code cards" and/or owner's manuals for whatever reason, and are lost forever. The only alternative is to contact a Honda dealer and provide VIN number and possibly the serial number from the radio itself (located on the bottom of the unit).
