Wireless Adapter Not Working

I bought two Dynex DX-NUSB's (USB Wireless Adapter); I installed one on a computer I was rebuilding for my mother, which runs on XP (without service packs). I tried then installing it on my desktop computer, which is a 225GB HP, with 1000 MB RAM and runs on Vista Home Premium. I couldn't get it to work.... and I still can't. I've tried re-installing it several times, tried downloading the install software specifically for Vista from their website--and even contacted support, but never got anything back from them. Can you help?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Need driver for dynewx dx-ebusb for Windows 7

Hello,

According to the dynex web site, this adapter is only compatible with Windows vista and earlier. There is no mention of compatibility with Windows 7 however you can try using the software install from the dynex website. Try running the install and if it does not start, try running it in Windows Vista SP 2 compatibility mode.

I am running Ubuntu 9.04 and cannot get the Dynex Wireless-N Usb 2.0 adapter to work. i tried using the drivers that come with the cd. i clicked and dragged the .inf file into the Windows Network Drivers...

Standalone I don't think your Dynex Wireless G/Model DX-BUSB wireless card is supported by the Linux kernel or any third party drivers. You can try use ndiswarpper.

cd ~/folder that has your driver

sudo ndiswrapper -i [your inf file]

sudo ndiswrapper -l

now it should say:
driver installed, device present
sudo ndiswrapper -m
sudo modprobe ndiswrapper
that should start the driver, and in a few minutes, you'll have a working internet connection.

No connection with wireless router

Have you tried using an ethernet cable instead of a USB cable? USB connections for internet traffic aren't always the best.
If you can make the change to ethernet and then open your command prompt and type ipconfig /all and tell me what ipaddress, subnet mask, and default gateway it says.
