Is your CD dirty or does it have any cracks? It might just be the problem. Otherwise, it could be corrupt game data. Clean the disc, if it still doesn't work I'd try deleting the game utility data and re-downloading it. Hope this helps in some way or another.
This a common problem that you have with all laser reading devices. You accidentally got some dust or other debris in the laser lens.
Go to www.powergamingparts.com and use their forms to open your PS3. Then just use some Hydrogen Peroxide or Rubbing Alcohol on the lens with a Q-Tip, then dry it with another Q-Tip, close up your system, and then your system should work fine.
well, it must be a problem with your game files, because most loading processes are done by the Installed game files . if other blu-ray games are running well, i guess you don't need to worry about the lens .
try picking up a lens cleaning disk. they have brushes on the bottom that clean your lens. you put the alcohol water solution on the rushes and then insert it into the drive of the ps3. that may work if you have the same problem with all your disks. if you don't have a problem with all your disks, it may be that your savegame is corrupt and you need to start a new one.
i had this same problem and the solution to mine was that my ps3 was in my garage and it was too cold in there for the system to operate so i moved it into the living room where it was warm and it eventually began to work
another solution is to just restore the system and then reinstall all of the updates
The same problem happened to me yesterday, i was playing GTA IV then it suddenly stopped reading, and now i have a real hard time making one ps3 game work...the ps2 and psONE games work fine, but the ps3 ones dont load or take real hard work to make them load.
I have had advice directly from SCE that updates should be done from a flash Drive and not directly from the internet connection on the system, as its quicker and more stable.
I have just had my unit crash on me, by updating first the PSStore update patch, which caused the original issue, then an update for RSV2 pretty much finished it off.
