First you have to check if the battery is on full power, as sometimes even brand new batteries are underpowered. Good battery should have 1.54 - 1.57 Volts of charge.
If battery is ok and watch still not working - get the battery out and clean (scrape) all battery related contacts with steel needle untill they are shiny. Use the dust blower to get rid of cmall dirt particles.
Replace the battery. Now the watch should work.
If the watch doesn't work after cleaning contacts, then this is mechanical fault and you will need watchmakers help.

Watch working fine, however digital panel will not come up. Looking to repair or replace

You may send it back if you have a receipt ,lol, but here is an easier way for you:)
Of all things, you should always just try replacing the battery in your digital watch. These are really inexpensive and most watch stores will install your battery for you for free if you need help, but the process is very simple too. Most watches contain instructions on the back of the watch for replacing the battery. You opening the back panel carefully and review what is inside. You should see a battery that is small and round and metallic in color. Very carefully remove this battery and push the new battery into the exact same position, as the old one and it should fit into place. You should then replace the back panel and try out your watch. There are many good watches that were tossed away due to just a dead battery.
If your digital watch has gotten wet, try opening it up and removing the battery and airing it out. Use a really soft Q-tip to get at areas where there might be sensitive material that can damage easily. Try to dry up as much of the liquid with the Q-tip as possible and let the watch sit unused for a good while. Most digital watches will work if you get to the wet damage quickly enough and dry it up.

Do I need to buy a battery for my new watch?

Most watches with mechanical movements are shipped with the battery disconnected (with the crown extended). Watches with an LCD display that is on will have been drawing the battery down. The original factory supplied battery will not last as long as a brand new battery because of this - but you should get a fair amount of life out of it.

If you're concerned, you can always opt to purchase a new battery and have it installed when buying the watch. Ask to be sure that if installed - the warranty is not voided. Some places will tell you if the watch is opened to replace a battery it will no longer be considered waterproof. If that's the case *RUN* and find a reputable dealer to purchase from instead. If they will install - make sure the sales slip indicates that THEY installed a battery for you. Then go home and wet the watch or put an a glass of water to be sure the seal it good. You should get that type of sales slip whenever someone installs a battery in your watch.

I had same problem at watch makers and the put the old battery back for the digital secnods count and it started working. I guess the moral of the story is don't replace the digital seconds battery.

Seiko flightmaster fitted new battery watch wont work atall

Most likely the watch was damaged when the battery was installed. Quartz watches have fragile parts in them. The coils for instance are made of wire thinner than the hair on your head. It takes almost nothing to damage these wires and the coil. Dirt is a big problem. Since a quartz watch has no force behind the gear train the smallest particle of dirt can stop a quartz watch.

Either your watch will need a cleaning or damaged parts will need replacing.

A qualified watchmaker can do this work and get your watch back in working order for you.

Hope this helps,

I have a Timex Indiglo watch that I had replaced the battery. I used the correct battery CR2016 and the watch doesn't work. I have replaced batteries in watches many times and always have had the watch...

This watch will have what is called and "AC" or All clear to reset it. There should be a white sticker with very small print on the back lid that will walk you through doing this procedure. It typically involves pressing down a tiny lever onto a small metal pad that will reset the watch.

Which way round does the battery go in a Polar FS1 HRM watch?

Battry must go - (minus) into the movement and +(plus) facing up. As battery replacement must be done with watch upside down, you must see the +(plus) on battery when it is inserted into the movement and the fit the contact over it.

Mens Relic watch stopped working after battry change

I suggest that your watch has an oxidized contacts and electricity can not reach the movement.
Do as folloes:
Take out the batttery,
Clean (scrape) all battery related contacts till they are shiny (use hardened steel needle for that),
Use the dust blower to get rid off any tiny dust and dirt particles after cleaning,
Refit the battery back.
Now your watch should work again.
If all written above do not help, then there is a problem with your watch and you will need the help of the watchmaker.

Have timex watch had battery replaced and watch quit working, she had to use clamp device to instal battery

If you had the battery replaced, I'm guessing that the watch wasn't working when you brought it in for a new battery. It may not have needed a new battery. You might need a new watch. I've never heard of anyone needing a clamp for a Timex digital watch. In my experience, they use phillips screws to hold the back to the case. I have a case press for snap-on backs, but that's still unusual for a Timex unless it has a BIG case. I think your watch was shot before you replaced the battery.
