Re: unable to program
Hi. You have battery failure and you have lost everything. If it is a powerful machine, it may require a lot of system programming. Do not put any user programming into it until it has had a battery and system settings performed by a dealer.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Perform a status clear.

reg will beep once & print reciept saying status clear.
this wil not clear programs or totals.
Hi. This is normal. Unless you made a backup, you will have lost a lot of system programming. Firstly you must make sure you have initialised it with the code for scanning and not check tracking. To do this:
Turn key to program mode
This will print the memory allocation. Next to file 16, you should see a figure in the thousands (usually 6000).
Next you need to allocate the I/O port for the scanner.
Turn key to program mode
Now perform a flag clear to set the new I/O:
Turn key to PROGRAM mode.
Turn power off at wall.
Hold RECEIPT FEED down - keep your finger on it.
Turn power on at wall.
Wait 5 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED.
You should see "FFFFFFFFFF" on display.
Turn back to REG mode and try it. You might have to log a clerk back on after the flag clear. See how you get on.
This ino might help: Cleaning ERRORS: ______________________________
1.- Turn the Mode lock to OFF 2.- Press down the RECEIPT FEED button 3.- Turn the key to PROGRAM 4.- Lift up RECEIPT FEED button (FFFFFFFFFF) appears on the display panel 5.- Press SUBTOTAL (wait for receipt to issue) 6.- Turn Mode Switch back to REG and use as Normal. Also another bit goes like this: RESET: _______________________________________
1.- Insert the OW key and turn to OFF 2.- Hold down the JOURNAL FEED button and turn the key to PROGRAM mode 3.- Release the JOURNAL FEED button. The display should shows "00000000". 4.- Turn the key to OFF 5.- Turn to REG1. The display shows "INIT" and "0.00" 6.-
Press the number 10801 and then press SUBTOTAL. Initialisation is
completed when the printer stops operation. The display shows: "_ 0.00"
Hope this helps in restting to factory settings................................sodeep
Turn key to PROGRAM mode. Turn power off at wall. Hold RECEIPT FEED down - keep your finger on it. Turn power on at wall. Wait 5 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED. You should see "FFFFFFFFFF" on display. Press SUBTOTAL.
Hi. Yes, that's the problem alright. you said it in the first sentence. It hasn't been used for a while. Therefore, no one would have replaced the batteries as they weakend from sitting, so now you have memory corruption which means you have lost everything from the machine. It must be fully RAM cleared and re-programmed. I hope you have a backup, or there may be a lot of work ahead. If your dealer programmed it originally, they will probably have a backup of your prog to dump into it.
Hi. I would advise both of you to try a flag clear first to see if you have any program left.
Turn key to program. Power off at wall. Hold RECEIPT FEED, and turn power on at wall. Wait 10 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED. When you see 'FFFFFFFFF' press SUBTOTAL. Turn key back to REG and try it.
I would assume this could have been a product that was returned to the company that you purchased it from. Follow these instructions.
1. 1. Disconnect power from the base by pulling the plug out of the back of the unit.
2. Press and hold the Page button and while holding the Page button reconnect the power.
3. Continue to hold the Page button until the charge/in use light flashes rapidly.
4. Release the Page button.
5. Press and release the page button on the base once. All handsets are de-registered and
HANDSET NEEDS REGISTRATION shows in the display.
From the Handset Setup Menu:
1. Press the caller ID-volume ( 6 or 5) button to scroll to the REGISTRATION sub-menu.
2. Press the mute/program button to enter the menu. REGISTRATION 1YES 42NO - - -shows
in the display. The default setting is 2NO.
3. Use the touch-tone pad to select 1 for YES or 2 for NO. Or use the caller ID-volume ( 6 or
5) button to scroll to 1YES or 2NO.
4. If you select YES, press the mute/program button. HOLD BASE PAGE FOR 5 SECONDS, THEN
PRESS HANDSET PROGRAM shows in the display. (Your handset should be held near the
base during registration process.)
5. Press and hold the page button on the base unit until the charge/in use indicator flashes.
Press the handset mute/program button. REGISTERING shows in the display. HANDSET X
REGISTERED shows in the handset display, where X is the handset number. You may now
rename your handset. (Refer to Step 3 & 4 of Handset Name Section)
NOTE: IF you are re-registering the handset through the handset menu;
to rename your handset you must go to the Handset Name Section and
start from the beginning step.
I understand that you have tried the registation process. Sometimes with electronics, you have to start from ground 0, before it will work correct again.
