Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

1 Answer

Toshiba Laptop A 105 missing winsoc 2

I cannot get my laptop to revert back to factory settings which I was told would solve my winsoc 2 issues. I ran a registry clean program about 3 weeks ago and since then I cannot connect to internet or full use of several programs due to winsoc 2 missing. I have downloaded "fixes" onto a flashdrive and installed them only to have them not work either. PLEASE, anyone that can give me a solution would be a joy to my evening! Thanks!

I recommend you restore your computer using the system recovery application. Hopefully you have a back-up for your other files. This is the only sure way to restore your system back to factory setting and restore your missing files. Good Luck.

Does reverting to factory settings loose all your docs

Not possible because taking the laptop back to the factory default wipes the hard disk before re-installing Windows.

Firstly check to see if your system detects a web cam hardware, if it does then, click on here to download your driver http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK, and if that does'nt solve it, Restore you computer back to factory setting.

I NEED TO RESTORE MY TOSHIBA LAPTOP TO FACTORY

Since Toshiba doesn't sells or replaces them the best solutions for you are:
1 - get an Windows XP install disk of the same type as the one on your pc and install with it while using your key - in this case you will gonna find and install all the drivers yourself
2 - just borrow from someone an recovery disk for your laptop; even one for a similar laptop will do, as long it's an Toshiba Satellite A series -  some drivers will be missing, install them yourself.

Hi,

What your friends have told you is correct for newer Toshiba models, they do have a "recovery partition"

Here is how you recover the OS >>>>>>

1, Make sure the laptop is turned off.
2, Hold down the zero (0) key and turn the laptop on, keep it pressed in until you see the "Toshiba Recovery Wizard" screen.
3, Choose the "Recovery of Factory Default Software" and click next.
4, The "Recovery of Factory Default Software" will appear.
5, Choose the "Recover to out-of-box-state" you will then get a message that all your data will be lost. Click next and the recovery process will start.

Once complete you will see a message that the HDD has been recovered.

Before you start the recovery process its a good idea to back up any data you have unless you not bothered or have already done so.

Reagrds.

How do i reset to factory settings on my pc

First check beneath your mouse and make shore there is no build up of ****, dust, etc.
Then go to control panel and restore the computer back to earlier day before the trouble started.
If it still persists its software problems so refer to your customer service 1 800 number so that they may direct you to how to fix a glitch issue.

I lost my Systems Administrator Password so I want to clear Inspiron 1525 to factory settings

You can revert back to Factory Settings only if your laptop came with a preinstalled OS. You can Restore to Factory Backup using the disc provided with your laptop. If you dont have one, you can just format your drive and clean install any OS you like.

Tell me what the machine is doing exactly when you hit the power button. ie... do lights come on, do they flash, does it beep, can you hear the hard drive start, or nothing, just dead.
