Question about Whirlpool GH7155XHS Microwave Oven

1 Answer

PCB repair Hi there. My Whirlpool Gold Microwave had some problems so I took control panel off to see if the microswitches were bad. If I wiggled the door, the microwave would click on and off. I'm a pretty handy guy so I decided to check continuity on the switches. Two out of three were burned out. Here is my problem. I replaced all three switches and when doing so I broke the RY2 Relay on the PC board. I pulled a bit too hard when removing the wire harness. I happened upon some of your posts and would like to know if you can fix my PC board for the $39.95 + shipping. The Model is a GH7155XHS-1. I have removed the PC board form the control panel cover with the 3 screws that hold and ground it. Please let me know if you would like to have the control panel included when I send in the PC board.

Yes we can.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for more information & help or see our Web site.

Before you power it back up after the repair, you should double-check the wiring of the switches against the "mini-manual".

It's located behind the grille or below the circuit board.

If you don't find yours, you can download it here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

I have a whirlpool gold over the stove top microwave that control panel starts beeping and setting itself. How to do I fix model gh7208xry-3?

This answer is for model GH7208XRY3. The support page for your model is here, and you can view or download the owner's manual and installation instructions.

The exploded view with parts list is here.

You will need to order either the door control assembly, part number W10115584 for $280.35 from the Pros here, OR you can order the whole door. It costs more, but it easier to replace. It is part number W10327332 and runs $428.68 from the Pros here. (Prices subject to change)

Fan will not stop

fan is normally controlled by a microswitch which can be accessed by removing top cover, you may have to replace the microswitch but this should only be carried out by a licenced electrician as high voltage is involved

I have Whirlpool gold GH5184XPS its not heating. how to troubleshooting the problem?

There will be a technical sheet hidden behind the controller assembly or elsewhere.

There is a YouTube video here which shows you how to remove the controller assembly in about 5 minutes.

You can also find it online here.

It may be a bad door switch, controller problem, inverter problem, or defective high voltage part.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

The fan runs when the door is open just like it does when it's running. When the door is shut and not running the fan is off. I opend/shut the door 3 times firmly like the GE rep. told me to but it still...

Hi.

Disconnect the oven from power and allow cooling down. Most GE have temperature controlled fan system.

The Fan is controlled by main pcb and powered along the line passing through the door lock switch, with circuit supplying power to the magnetron and turntable motor.

The fan is also operated directly by the control board.

If the turntable was also running, then the door switch is shorted. In that case the magnetron may be working as well, better not to start the microwave oven.

If only the fan is running, then the main pcb must be replaced, or the damper motor relay must be replaced.

Call GE and arrange repair, the unit is faulty.

Whirlpool gold microwave gt4175sps - problem: will

Hi,

It sounds like there may be a diode or relay on the control that has failed. This could cause both symptoms you are explaining here. In either case the control board/keymembrane would need replaced. The cost of these would be about $173.00 for parts. Unfortunatly this repair would most likely cost more than the value of the product. Sorry for the bad news.

Will not heat

Hello :

It seems that there's a problem with the power transformer or the power PCB . Or it could be just a fuse . You need to check first . If it's the fuse , then that will be easy to solve , you need only to replace it with new one . But if the problem is with the transformer or with the PCB , you need to take your microwave to the service for repairing . Or it could be bad door switch or problem with the control panel .

good luck .

please rate !

Microwave runs, but not heating. Whirlpool Gold

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can download Whirlpool owner's manuals and installation instructions (very handy when removing the oven form the wall for parts replacement) here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts here.
