Is it a genuine 128 akai card or another brand? If it's non-genuine you might have the wrong chip layout. look for a 256mb PL3 P133 144pin sodimm(4x64). Picked mine up at a computer recycler for US$20 and it works a treat. Hope it helps!

HI! Here's what to do if your Logitech Harmony remote's LCD screen has gone blank.
1. Remove the battery, press and hold the 'OFF' button, and re-insert the battery. The screen will display 'Safe Mode!', or the 'Activities' button will be lit. 2. Connect your remote to the computer. 3. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in. 4. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware". 5. The remote will go through the firmware update. 6. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote. If the screen is still blank after you complete these steps, then it is a hardware issue and you should contact Logitech's wonderful support team, given that the remote is still under warranty.
Check if the ram you bought is compatible with that of the existing in your Akai Mpc. The ram strip comes with a clock speed number stamp into it. It must be the same, otherwise it will not function. Or it must be defective. On my own practice, I bring my PC to the com- puter store, and let them activate the additional ram. In that manner I will be assured of the compatibility and integrity of the ram added. Do this, I'm sure you will be satisfied with the result. E-mail for result.
Can anyone help me solve a problem with my Thomson DT16300? The orange light stays on. The fan comes on and off at the back. There is no picture and I can not programme it. I have tried rebooting but can't get it working apart from the orange light coming on and the fan starting up.
You have a software problem. When I worked at Philips CEC before we closed I did a lot of those. I have the same unit also. But when we left I didn't take the upgrade disc so I'm stuck as well as you are. I just live with it untill something else happens then I'll deep six it.
If you have a Thomson DT16300, here's a handy fix that address freeze ups, lack of reception and problems on your Hard Disk:
goto MENU screen
goto SETUP screen
goto HELP screen
At HELP screen, Enter 1397 - this accesses the engineer panel - you can
reformat the HDD in this menu - you will lose all recorded programmes
and planned recordings but it clears locked or corrupted files
OR - at the HELP screen, press the GREEN button
On the lower half of the screen youwill see 3 options:
Blue - Reformat HDD - clears all the memory/HDD - useful if you have a
corrupted file - you will lose all recorded programmes though
Red - reset the whole box to factory settings - good if you have a
locked box or reception problems or cannto scan for new channels. It
goes back to when you bought the box, so you will have to input
favourites and planned recordings again
Yellow - Software revert - allows you to go back to the previous
software driver - you may lose new functions, but you can always
restore it back again using the same feature
My Home theatre started to do the same thing today and I manged to get it going again by reseting the ratings password and changing the batteries in my remote. Oddly enough, I have never set a ratings password so I suspect the batteries caused the issue. Seems to be back to normal. Instructions for the reset are in the manual.
