MILK DOES NOT FLOW FREELY FROM MILK JUG

WHEN RUNNING OFF MILK FOR CAPUCCINO COFEES THE MILK AND STEAM SPLUTTERS AND DOES NOT RUN ENOUGH TO FILL THE CUP
THE JUG IS INSERTED CORRECTLY AND WE USE COLD LIGHT MILK

THE MACHINE IS A DELONGHI MAGNIFICA EAM 3500 It is clean and we use cold light milk - tried different milks. What and where is the pump? and what is the process of how the milk is pumped up the tube and into the delivery spout? what needs to be cleaned other than all the jug components? we flush steam through for 8 to 10 secs after each use but it makes no difference to the problem of the milk squirting and not filling the cup correctly.

Hellow there, please read this carefully.

If this is a Delonghi Magnifica, as in title, there is no milk container, and no milk dispenser.

Milk can only be frothed using the steamer, the containers on top are for coffee beans (one on left) and water (one on right).

If you put milk inside one of containers you need to clean the machine.

If instead the problem is that machine is not frothing, try using whole milk, and moving the steamer.

If the machine does not produce enough heath, then The machine may need to be descaled. Please refer to the Descaling section in the downloadable instruction manual.

Here is the manual.

Its my humble request not to play with these machines. If there would be any quick fixes, we would love to offer you.

However, if you are not a trained professional, trying to play with the m/c might cause some other faults.

The number is already provided by one of the experts.

Follow that :)

Thnx.

Possibly a leaky tube running to the pump or bad or cloged pump

a tube connects from the milk storage compartment, then goes to pump with motor, flows, through that pump, and the tubes that goes from the pump to the spout.
There might be a clog in the spout from a clump that has dried up inside. Milk gets clumpy when hot then dry. I don't know for sure, but I would think there would be a way to remove the spout and high pressure blow it out with air nozzle or a very narrow hard pressurized stream of hot water.
If there is a clog it will come out. If there happens not to be a clog, then it is a good chance that the motor built to the pump could be wearing out.

Follow the spout, down the tube and you will find the pump and motor. Remove all the tubing possible and try to clean it out.

Even semi skimmed milk with froth if hot enough. Check the steam temperature, you may need to blow steam through the milk for longer.

DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5500 when trying to make a cappucino it wont **** up the milk any ideas thanks

Had this exact problem a few times on a cleaned well maintained milk jug top with an ESAM5500M. Delonghi 'repaired' it by sending a new milk jug frothing top.

It's caused by milk fat deposits, the frother part on the milk jug may look clean but deep inside it's not. I clean mine with pipe cleaners, detergent and hot water and still it wouldn't froth.

The problem re-occurs for me every 6 months or so. You could buy the milk fat remover solution to clean it. Personally I just boil the whole milk jug frother in detergent and the again in descaling solution, that's fixed this problem twice now, although I think it will eventually corrode the 'o' rings on the frother, still cheaper than buying a new frother part each time though.

If it still doesn't work after that, the only other reason for this problem I found mention of was caused by a broken rubber seal where the milk jug fits to the machine. It's most likely to be milk fat deposits inside the frother though.

Our PrimaDonna coffee machine doesnt appear to be takeing in any milk from the jug to make latte's or cappuciono's, is there any way of sorting this out ?

Most common cause of this problem is a blockage in the milk jug. First thing you should try is soaking the complete jug top in a quality milk line cleaner (available from specialist coffee machine retailers) for at least an hour and then rinse thoroughly. Then try running a fresh cleaning solution through the jug instaed of milk. Good luck and post again if this doesnt work.

I have a Delonghi Prima Donna. Blows lots of stem but wont froth milk. The 3 orings have been replaced and the fittings cleaned, but still no frothing. I pulled the lid apart and it seems ok. Any...

Where is it blowing steam from? If it is coming from the milk spout then it most likely that the milk jug is blocked somewhere. If it is coming from where the jug connects to the machine (coupling) then you might need to change the complete coupling (assuming you used the correct orings). The biggest cause of frothing problems with these machines is lack of cleaning of the milk jug. Soak the top in quality milk cleaner for at least an hour and rinse thoroughly. Also run cleaner through it regularly using the milk only function.

The message ventilate is showing and the machine won't work at all. It started when we used the steam to froth milk.

As pointed out by bansheracer, "Ventilate" means you need to open the valve on the right to let out some steam from the milk steamer wand. This can also happen if you accidentally push the 'steam' button but don't actually let out any steam.
If it is stuck or needs cleaning, unscrew the metal piece and dip the plastic bit in a jug of hot water - it should resolve most of the dried milk in about 5-10 minutes.

Delonghi Magnifica Coffee Maker the milk is not frothing properly - there's lots of steam & very little milk being issued from the spout We clean the milk jug each day, have adjusted the plastic tube...

You did not state anything about descaling, but every now and then, I also add water and descaler to the milk container and use the "Frothing" program to run through the water and descaling-solution (double-click the Cappuchino button).
I have also noticed that the first cup (and sometimes even the second) will produce less milk, and not as well frothed milk as later cups. My theory is that the machine is warmer when producing later cups.
If possible, you could try to run two-three frothings of plain water through before switching to milk. I realize this is inconvenient, but it could be worth testing this to see if it helps. We luckily have two milk containers and keep one filled with water just for the purpose of heating up (or whatever we do :) the frothing system before serving the first cappuchino.
Good luck!

Not frothing milk

that means that the steamer is not generating enough pressure steam.

This happens either because there is not enough heat, or if you release the steam when pressure is not enough.

Very common problem with the american maid makers.

bear also in mind that Krups are not the best at frothing milk, and this is also a basic model.

If you want the best capuccino Coffee machine, buy the italian ones, Gaggia, Delonghi, Ariete etc. that are all great at this, or get a bigger Krups as a replacement like the Krups XP405040 that is also good at capuccino
