Where is the thermal fuse for Kenmore 665 11073342 dishwasher?

My dishwasher will not turn on, there is water in it and there is no power issue. From reading other posts I would like to try and replace the thermal fuse but I don't know where it is. Please help!

The thermal fuse is located in the front control panel where the circuit board is. You need to remove 4 screws(depending on the type of dishwasher you have) and you will see it. Make sure you change everything not just the fuse but the new wires also.

Hope this fixes your problem

How do you test ohms on a thermal fuse for a dishwasher

Disconnect all sources of power to the dishwasher.
Set your multimeter to the lowest RESISTANCE setting.
Place one probe on each side of the thermal fuse. The meter's reading should drop to zero, or very nearly zero, and should be the same reading as you get when you just touch the two probes to each other.

If you read anything significantly higher than zero across the thermal fuse, replace the thermal fuse with an identical one - same part number, or same current/temperature ratings.

Nothing will start and no lights are on and water won't drain from bottom on dishwasher.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I understand by reading your post which indicates it is a Whirlpool
dishwasher model #DU1055XTPS you appear to have a concern with no lights/power to the control, correct ?

The one thing I'd suggest is the thermal fuse, typically the symptom you've described is associated with a bad thermal fuse. (part #
W10258275).

Here's a helpful link below to a video from "repairclinic.com" to assist in changing (or simply checking it as shown in the second link) the fuse kit...it generalizes on most Whirlpool built dishwasher's such as yours, but if slightly different it is essentially the same.

My KUDS011JBSO undercounter dishwasher is blinking the normal wash light. What do I need to look for to fix this?

Hi

If light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or the thermal fuse, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry or High Temp Wash-Heated Dry-High Temp Wash-Heated Dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the thermal fuse located on the control or the door switch that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

My Whirlpool dishwasher was running when there was a power failure, and now there is no power whatsoever. The power failure happened when the machine was on final rinse and drain. Water is still in the...

Most Whirlpool manufactured dishwashers have a thermal fuse, located inside the operator console. When tripped, the dishwasher will not run. A power outage can cause the thermal fuse to trip. It cannot be reset and has to be replaced, if bad. Please post back with your COMPLETE MODEL NUMBER (located around the door opening) so I can determine the configuration of your dishwasher and explain how to access any potential fuses. -->

Kitchenaid dishwasher....clean light will not turn off. Dishwasher will not turn on. Just had motor and pump replaced on Thursday 12-30.

Hi

If clean light is blinking indicates an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump. To resolve this please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset.
If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back for further assistance.

VERY LOW WATER PRESSURE TO THE LOWER AND UPPER SPRAY ARMS. FILLS AND EMPTIES NORMALLY

Hello there:
i will post this solution in 2 separate post due to the length of it ok
Water-inlet valve Most cleaning problems are caused by the dishwasher not getting enough wash water, so the water-inlet valve is often to blame. This valve is usually at the bottom left or right of the dishwasher, behind the lower access panel. It's the device with the main water line from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it. When a water-inlet valve is defective, you may hear the sound that's usually referred to as "water hammer." If the water-inlet valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve Replacement

Be sure to read and understand any instructions that come with the new water inlet valve.

ools required:

Adjustable wrench

Multi-Screwdriver

Pliers

Step 1. Disconnect the dishwasher from its power source.

Note: Dishwashers are usually wired directly to the home's electrical system. To disconnect the power, switch off the circuit breaker or remove the fuse for the electrical circuit the dishwasher is attached to. Try to turn the unit on after disconnecting the power to be sure you were successful.

Burns out thermal link what causes it

Hi I am Kelly. What you should do is first turn off input power and perform resistance readings.

1. Unhook one wire of the heating element and read each of the element end terminals ONLY to the chassis and the outside cover of the heating element.(not to each other) If the element has failed internally they are notorious for tripping circuit breakers or burning out thermal links. Make sure to reconnect the heating element terminal if it reads correctly.

2. Make sure the circuit breaker is OFF and then test each of the input power terminals to the pump / motor case. Only the ground should read to the pump motor case. If either of the other 2 leads read to the motor case then most likely water has leaked into the motor and caused a short.

These are the 2 most common dishwasher shorts. There is always a possibility of a chaffed or broken wire somewhere but it is not nearly as common as the first 2 above.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Whirlpool dishwasher stopped working...

It sounds like the thermal fuse in the control console has blown.
Turn power off to unit.
Remove the outer door panel and then the console.
Remove the black plastic cover from over the circuit board if it has one.
You should see the thermal fuse clipped to the circuit board housing.
If you have an ohm meter, check for continuity across it, it should read closed.
If you don't have a meter, unplug the wires from it and and hook them together.
Turn power back on to unit, hold door switches down and cancel cycle. The washer should drain the water.
If this doesn't work, check your door switches to make sure they are closing properly.
