Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

Red flashing light and PS3 won't work

60GB PS3 won't work. Upon turn on I get a green light that goes to yellow for a fraction of a second then blinks red continuously. During the light transition there is a series of three beeps. No picture, no work at all.

Exactey that same problem. It doesnt seem to make any difference as to whether I turn it on with the controller or if I use the power botton on the consol itself. It gives you the faulse impression that its going to start up with no problem in the first second or two but then it changes its mind and the green light turns from green to a flashing red light and at the same time its beeping at me (2 times i think)

Will not power up, red light goes green flashes yellow then stays flashing red

Yellow lights and blinking red lights indicates general hardware failure on ps3. If your ps3 is still under warranty call Sony and they will send you a new or refurbshed one. Your ps3 is one in a billion (according to Sony). North America: 1-800-345-SONY (7669) United Kingdom: 08705 998877
Now you could try doing a few things (hey it's worth a try!)
1. Turn off the switch in the back and wait a few minutes. Turn it back on and try it again. If that doesn't work it may be dead.
2. You could try this article, if you choose to, it's a long shot but might work for you in your case. http://ps3.qj.net/Possible-PS3-flashing-red-light-fix-from-MXACE/pg/49/aid/75721

60gb ps3 wont start up.

Possibly the very common mother board failure. Slight possibility that the power supply is failed, but the capacitors in either component can be tested with capacitor tester and service manual to test for the faulty component.

Flashing red light and disk wont eject

Im afriad your going to have to buy a new playstation3 console. Sony no longer produce 60Gb consoles and they will not replace or repair your console. Im guessing youve had your 60Gb for over one year so theres no warranty.
Sad to say but you have to buy a new one. eBay have some good offers. ;)

Hi my name is Juan and unfortunately your ps3 is dead what happen is that for some reason it got so hot and the processor stop working when you turn on the ps3 it does a self test and if something is not working right it turns off immediately with a green yellow red light so don't spend your money in another power supply I can guaranty to you is not the power supply I do sell and fix playstations and this is why I know this this problem is common on the 60Gb and 80Gb also in 40Gb but not like on the 60and 80Gb
