Question about Craftsman 16" High Garden Tractor Snow and Dozer Blade

1 Answer

Screws on my Sears track drive snowblower unthread themselves.

Basically the threads that hold the track drive wheels on, unthread themselves when the snowblower is in motion.

My question is this: Should the screws rotate with the wheel or stay stationary. In other words should the plastic wheels spin on the axels or does the axel spin with the wheel. I'm thinking that the little axels are seized to the plastic wheel and should rotate freely. A little hard to explain.

If anyone has one of these, please run your machine and tell me if the bolts holding the drives wheels spin when in motion or stay stationary.

Thanks!

OK Problem solved. The plastic wheels need to spin on the axels. It took my 12 ton press to remove them from the wheel, and of course, they were full of rust. Once cleaned up and properly greased, the wheels spin freely on the axels, and the mounting screws no longer un-screw themselved.

    Thanks for the input!

Back wheels have a gear that connects to the drive chain. on each side. those spin.
The front ones which are Idlers do not spin as the idler wheel as a bushing in it that allows free motion on the shaft without resistance. Use a nylock nut with Locktight for starters. The try that.

Hope this helps. -Jeff anchorage small engine repair.

Sears model 247.888550 9 hp track drive. Track came off on right side. How can I reinstall it?

Loosen the adjusting bolts at the front of the snowblower. The front wheel should slide back enough that you can reinstall the track. I have also included the track adjustment instructions.

TO ADJUST TRACK
If the snow thrower does not move forward evenly and the
track slips slightly, you need to check the track as follows:
® Pull up gently on the center of the track near the
center.
Measure the distance between the track and the top
of the track support frame (See Fig.. 38). The distance
should not be more than one and one quarter
(1-I/4) inches.
If the distance is greater, you need to adjust the track as
follows: Loosen or tighten the adjusting bolt at the front of the
track support frame (See Fig 38) to obtain the
proper distance between the track and the track
support frame.
Adjust the track on the opposite side in the same
manner.

How do I add thread to the bobbin on Singer sewing machine 3114?

Your repair shop will have to fix the handwheel, but you can still wind your bobbin. UNTHREAD the machine completely, and take the needle out. Set up your thread to wind the bobbin, and push the winder over until it clicks. Wind your bobbin. I don't have a picture of your model; this is just standard.

Trying to remove a bolt that holds wheel of snowblower (sears mod. 247.881900 ) Bolt turned out about half inch then seems to be frozen at this point.

Spray some Penetrating lubricant on the bolt and carefully tighten and loosen it a little at a time until you can get it loose. Be careful and don't force it.

How to remove screws with damaged heads.

Depends on the size. Sears has some specialized tools for this problem. Basically, you drill into the worn screw and then put this extractor from Sears into the hole you drilled.

Since the screws have right hand threads and the extractor has a left hand tread, as the extractor jams into the hole and dead ends, it will spin the damaged screw out of the part.

It keep coming unthreaded at the need when i start sewing

You must hold the top thread at the start of every row of stitching, if you dont then the tension will pull the thread backwards.

How do you thread a kenmore sewing machine I can't figure out how to thread the bobbin for kenmore machine 1385.15343600.  I am a beginner, so I will need pretty detailed instructions. Thanks! Jenny

Put the bobbin on the short metal stick on top of the machine. Unthread the machine. Put the spool of thread on the tall, left side stick on top of the machine. Take the thread and wrap it counter clockwise around the circular, short, metal thing on the left side of the top of the machine, only 180 degrees. Thread the thread through the hole in the bobbin (which should be on top). Press the bobbin to the right, into the little white thing. Pull the turning wheel on the right side of the machine out. While holding the end of the thread, softly press the presser foot so that the thread goes around the bobbin a few times. After that, cut the end down to the bobbin. Now, press the presser foot down and wind the bobbin until it stops on it's own.

How do you take drive shaft out on a ford corsair?

Ford corsair built in the 60s is a rear wheel drive car??.Any front wheel drive vehicle must have the big nut undone in the centre of the wheel ,put some engine oil on it let it soak for a day then undo it with a 32mm socket and a 3/4 drive socket set or 1inch drive socket set .1/2 inch is unlikely to do it as the knuckle bar will snap .most front wheel drive cars you will need to drop the subframe as well so give everything a good soaking with an oil can ,NOT WD 40 you do not need to remove the disk only the drive shaft ,undo the lower track control arm ,the track rod end and with big nut undone, screw it back on till end is flush with shaft thread the wack shaft in to loosen it using a nice bit of hardwood so you dont damage the thread on the end .
