Continually Losing Signal with Netflix Roku Player

Hi,

Recently purchased the Netflix Roku player with a Netgear Wireless Router. After initial setup, played well for awhile, then lost picture every 5 min. or so. Roku suggested disabling the firewall in the router which I did not want to do for obvious reasons but I eventually tried. It did nothing to correct the problem. Netflix suggested pulling the plug on the router for 10 seconds. That worked once, never again. Odd thing is I don't always lose the picture but it does happen every few days. I have even tried going to the config. page and reinserting all pertinent info. Again, that worked once, and only once. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. This is frustrating to say the least.

Many thanks...

Hi Alberta
i do not know what web browser you are using, but it might be a flash player problem, what you need to do is go to this page Adobe Flash Player
if the video doesn't run you will need to update this, you will have to do this with all your browsers, weather it is Firefox, IE, Google, Yahoo, then fingers crossed it should work...good luck Merry Christmas and a Happy new year

How do I recover a forgotten password for an overdrivepro63E wireless internet stick

Wireless networking is a common feature in homes and offices.
Wireless routers provide access to a single Internet source, and wireless passwords ensure that only select users can access the network.
If a password is forgotten or lost, the password can be recovered or reset by accessing the router's Web-based settings menu.
Most wireless routers also have a reset button, which is capable of returning the router to its default settings which includes resetting the password.

Connect to your Wi-Fi or attach your computer directly to the router with an Ethernet cable.
Open your Web browser. Enter the default address of your router.
The default address is listed in your user manual or on the product website. Linksys and 3Com routers typically use "192.168.1.1" while Netgear routers use "192.168.0.1."
Enter your username and password.
Many routers use "admin" for the username and password by default.
Locate the wireless security settings.
Disable the wireless security.
Reset to Factory Defaults
Locate the reset button on your router.
Typically the reset button is a small indented hole on the back of the device.
Insert a long thin object such as a paperclip and hold down the reset button for 30 seconds to revert the router to its factory default settings.
Open your Web browser.
Enter the default address of your router.
The default address is listed in your user manual or on the product website.
Linksys and 3Com routers typically use "192.168.1.1" while Netgear routers use "192.168.0.1."
Enter your username and password.

Locate the wireless security settings and add security as necessary.

Pinnacle DVD's won't play in DVD players

The region code of your stand alone player is different from the region code on the disk. To resolve this Pinnacle should have an info tool that will allow you to check the region code. If not Nero has this tool available with thier software. You should be able to download it @www.download.com. Also most newer DVD players only read specific data types. For instance, you cant use DVD-RW in a player that only reads DVD-R. So make sure you are using disks that are compatible with your DVD player.

I'm having trouble connecting my laptop. I see my secured wireless network and when I try to connect to it, It tells me that it is limited or no connectivity. How can I connect to it?

Hi

Its not letting you connect due your laptop not having or having the wrong wireless password. You need to log on the your wireless router, double check what its set to. then go into your wireless config on your laptop and set it there. If you can let me know what copy of windows you are running i.e xp, vista, 7 etc and what router you are running then I will be able to give you a more detailed guild.

I am unable to set up an internet connection with my wireless neatgear router on my new dell desktop. The router, model DG834PN works fine on my old computer, but when i try to load the network adapter it...

use your other computer to goto netgear.com look for downloads and find your adaptor. you may have an older adaptor that is not suitable for vista or windows 7. it may need an updated driver. so download the appropriate driver for the operating system to the working computer, and burn it to a cd. then you should be able to run the disk on the new computer. we at charter had this issue when vista came out, our install disks didnt have the right drivers. you just need the right drivers for the adaptor vs operatin system.

Have BROTHER PRINTER that will accept wireless, It needs ssid to operate. i am using vista 64 bit. can u help me please

The SSID is the name of your wireless router assuming you have one. That series of printer isn't designed for PC to Printer direct wireless but rather to have your PC print over the network connection through the router to the printer.

If you do have a wireless router and just don't know the SSID, go to your wireless computer/laptops networking screen in control panel and view the available wireless networks. The one you're connected to is yours. The name displayed in that window is the SSID you need to enter into the printer.

Note: you will also require the routers password if it is a secure router.

Hope this helps,

Chris
