Here are the specs: 2000 AD domain, latest patches and service packs 6 Windows 98SE workstations 1 XP Pro workstation HP Laserjet 6L printers Toshiba estudio16 MFP with built in print server
When the XP machine logs on to the network (I do not have this machine logging on to the domain, just set it up as connecting to a workgroup, the user doesn't like the restrictions that being a domain user produces), they can print to the network printer (estudio 16), but not to the 6L attached locally to the XP station. The print job goes out, nothing in the queue, but no printing.
If I unplug the network cable and restart, he can print to the 6L. Once I plug the the cable in and login to the network, local printing is gone again.
Any thoughts?

I have the same. Local XP machine with TEC B-572 printer connected to LPT1. It prints when logged into the local machine. It does not print when logged into the Domain even with Administrator rights.
If I change the settings in the port (device manager) to "Use any interrupt assigned to the port", it works correctly..... but only until the machine is turned off. Then it fails again. To make it work again, I have to change the settings in the port back again, reboot and then change back to "Use any interrupt assigned to the port" again. So a clue, but not a workable fix. Looks like an XP problem to me.
