Camcorder won't connect to pc

I use an editing software named pinnacle studios 8(yeah, I kno im behind 4 versions) and everytime I connnect my NV-DS38 to my pc via firewire, the computer doesnt find my camera. I've done everything it says(turn camcorder on/off, reboot computer, disconnect/reconnect cable) and still the problem persists. Does anyone know how to find a solution to this. Any help would be nice. Thanks ya'll

There are number of softwares if you are doing normal editing which is not professional you can use Pinnacle studio 12 or Nero 9 or 10. Where you will be using a firewire cable called also by Sony by the name I-link or 1394 cable. Most camcorders come with thier on software to download the drivers for that camera for a particular operating system. Try this or otherwise tell me the details of what you have and what you are trying to do.

Sony CCD-TRV438E Hi-8 Analog Camcorder i need driver to connect with my pc

You need to buy a TV card which comes with audio /video composite sockets. these are female RCA or phono sockets which are also found on your camera.TV cards come with their own software to be able to capture pictures from your Hi 8 Camcorder using the av cables like the ones you use from your DVD to your TV set. There are other cards which carry the av sockets and come with video capture software. These cards are usually PCI cards which are fitted into your PCI slot in your PC motherboard. One other software that comes with such a card is Pinnacle Studio. Its called the Pinnacle AV/DV pci capture card. The one I use is just a DC 10 which works with Studios version 8. Please try any of these cards for your video capture

Im trying to find a way to install my panasonic NV-DS99 miniDV camcorder to my PC. It tells me that it cannot find the setup program to install it. Where do I find the setup online?

hi there
from what i can find out there never was a set up disk because it has no digital video out connections.it is about 7 or 8 years old now so it maybe pre digital. it has got analogue out for which you would need a card in your p.c. (play.com do one for about £60 with the editing software) or you may pick one up on e bay cheaper. the other alternative is to find some one with a mini dv camcorder which has a digital out and do it that way, you would only need something like pinnacle studio 8 or 9 software to edit it. £10 ish on e bay

hope this helps

Just curious since I have been using Pinnable Studio for 4 years, what happens when you put the camcorder into capture mode using USB?

WONT TRANSFER TO PC

You need a software program to do it with. Pinnacle Systems Studio software will work. Once the camera is connected to your pc and turned on a screen will appear asking you to use the program.

Go into menu and look for AV/DV out, and turn on. this should be under menu under camera or video settings. I assume your output from your camera has not been established. I have to establish mine with my camcorder. hope this helps.
