Dryer takes very long to dry it is a admiral mod aed4475tq1

Hello,

Most likely this means you have a blocked vent. Check the vent hose behind the dryer followed by the vent in the wall.

Hi,

If your
dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

How old is my dryer it was a hand me down the model is LHE7800W1 and the serial is M11713347

The manufacture date is dtermined by the serial number on the appliance. The following link explains how to determine the date code from the serial number on a Whirlpool:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576437-determining_the_age_of_your_whirlpool_ap

The second digit represents the YEAR of manufacure. The first two numbers after that represent the WEEK. So...according to the serial number you provide, this dryer was manufactured the first week in May of 1981. That would make your dryer almost 29 years old.

FYI: Even though the dryer is old, many of the parts are still used in modern appliances today, so parts are still available. Whirlpool did not change their parts too much over the years. I found a parts listing for this dryer available at pcappliancerepair.com. I hope you find this information helpful.

Kenmore Dryer-Mod.#11066514694-won't spin or heat

Hi,
This could be caused by an internal thermal overload switch. These usually have a limited life span in any appliance that uses heating elements. Try to locate the overload switch which usually looks like a small diode or resistor. You can determine if this is the cause by bridging the switch with a piece of wire, then trying the dryer once more.
Best wishes,

MY 6yr old Whirlpool gas dryer mod.LGR7648KQO does not fire up ,I have cleaned all parts .Thank you IKE

It appears your thermistor or gas valve solenoid has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
