Hi. I don't know if you have solved this problenm yet, but that isn't an error. Just press Display button about 5 seconds and that's all. It's just a safety feature to avoid someone from changing setup whet it's prepared to timer record.

Mitsubishi VCR Model HS-821V Ejects Video Cassette & gives an error code E4

Sometimes things like that are caused by the mode switch which will either need to be cleaned or replaced. It's worth looking inside for damage inside the unit. Pay close attention to plastic parts.

I have a VCR Panasonic NV - FJ623 and when I insert a video cassette into it for playback or recording purposes,it always ejects the video cassette. Can you help, please?

I'ts likely that the record sensor that pushes on the tab on the tape is bent or broken. Making the VCR think you are trying to record on to a protected tape.

Does this vcr record also? does it have a tv tuner

Thisd unit has both record and PB features and an analog tuner. So if you're using it on a regular stick antenna you will require a converter box if you're using it as a tuner. Otherwise, cable or sat it will work just fine.

Taping to vhs from digital cable

You do not need to leave the TV on. To get the clearest picture you should connect the AV cables (yellow, white, red) from the cable box to the VCR, and from the VCR to the TV. There should be a setting on both the TV and the VCR to set the input to VIDEO so you don't have to use channel 3. You can shut the TV off while recording if you want. Also be careful because if you use the channel guide or info button while recording, it will show up on the tape.

1. Is the VCR coming on in the timed mode and recording? Make an experiment- set up a timed record for just a few minutes in advance. Have a tape in the machine- then wait a few minutes & see if it indeed comes on and records. This should for sure help you diagnose your problem.

Note: When a timed record is set up, some VCRs must be turned off, or a particular button pushed to activate the timed record mode, where it will wait for the specified time and come on by itself..

2. Video source set correctly? If all you get is a blue screen, or a moment of snow, then the timed recording is happening, but there is no signal present.
