Broken volume and tone remote cord for the SoundSource 3200 Seies

I have a Manhattan 3200 SoundSource Series with 2 computer speakers and a bass woofer. It's a great system. Now the connector on the volume control cord won't go back into the bass woofer female connector. It may be the pins are bent.

Do you sell that remote volume cord with the volume and tone controls on one end and the pin connector on the other?

Thank you.

Hello,

I just need a new connector cord as described. I was hoping I could buy a new one.

But it looks like I will have to take it to an electrical fix it shop somewhere to see if they can fix the pin connector.

Thank you.

Wiring change from Fender

Standard J-Bass wiring is parallel. Not series.

To run the pickups in series, the ground of one pickup would feed into the hot of the next. That's not what comes from the factory.

Where can I find a satellite speaker that controls the sound?

For the most part volume is controlled on computer, though speakers may have separate volume \ bass \ treble controls. Or, are you looking to purchase?

You can order replacement speaker cables from Gateway Spares online.
These look like the appropriate cables:

8001844 - Gateway - Boston Acoustics Black Volume Control Speaker Cable
8001845 - Gateway - Boston Acoustics Micromedia Black Speaker Cable
8001846 - Gateway - Boston Acoustics Volume Control Speaker Cable

I hope that helps.

No sound

If you know your speakers are working and there is nothing wrong with them go on your computer and go to sound settings in control panel and adjust treble bass and volume.

I have Bose Companion 2 Series ones and the left makes odd noises

> I turn the volume to a low it still has the odd noise
If there is any drive to the speaker at all (volume not turned off), the rattle is probably coming from a broken 'surround;' the part that keeps the cone centered around the outer edge.
Another point of failure is a structure called a 'spider' that is located between the voice coil and cone that ensures the voice coil stays centered.
If there is hum with the volume turned completely down, the amplifier driving the speakers (internal or external) has a failing filter in the power supply.

Bass tone problem

Both of your problem amps were made in the '70's or earlier. It is entirely possible that the coupling capacitors are failing. This is an issue for a service center whether it is caps or something else, like failing tubes.

The good news is that installing metalized polypropelene capacitors will make those classic amps sound incredible.

BOOM BOOM BOOM

The Bose engineers in their "infinite" wisdom developed a $300 radio with no, that is NO, tone control. This means the only way to tune bass response is to reposition the Wave radio itself. If you put it in a corner of a room, it will produce the most bass. If it is only against one wall, not so much bass. To reduce bass response to a minimum, you would have to suspend the device from a wire in the middle of the room. Good luck. I would never buy a radio without a tone control; I literally inherited by Bose Wave Radio and use external speakers which do have tone controls.
