check you condenser fan motor to see if there something jammed in fan or if it just quit running, remove back panel to acces fan motor, that would cause that center mullion to get very hot
you need to fix the fan down by compressor as it cools the cond coils and causes proper orp of cmpressor . if it not running the comp runs too hot and does not pump the refergent and may be shutting of on overload . the high tempt between the doors will be less with fan working . but some warm tempt is normal .. mm
Hi, Check and see if the condensor fan motor is running, Sometimes the dust from underneath will block the fan. Make sure the compressor and the evaporator fan inside the freezer are running as well.
Please let me know what you find and let me know if I can assist you further.
Just make sure that all fans are running when the compressor is working. The compressor is a real fine built model to be 35 years old. The problem with machines and people, they just tend to wear out. If that refrigerator is something you want to keep and the compressor is worn out I would consider replacing the compressor. But the cost may not be something you would want to pay. I do this a lot and usual charge for parts, labor and warranty is $300.00
Hope you well on that Whirlpool!
Thanks, Sea Breeze
i suspect the fan is not working. take the back panel off inside the freezer and check that the fan is free to rotate, check for continuity thro the fan motor and check you have power to the fan
hi thanks for the question its good that its blowing hot air only if its on the outside . let it run for 24 then check it if it was the dirt it will start working again give it some time the appliance doc
Check the condensor fan behind the fridge which is designed to cool the compressor/gas line by blowing air over the condensor. When this fan motor seizes or stops running, the gas gets very hot and because it is skin cooled too, the outside of the fridge also gets very hot. You can overcome the problem temporarily by putting a standing fan behind the fridge, blowing onto the compressor and under the fridge untill you can have the problem rectified.
