Hi yvonne...

this might seem like a silly question, but have you replaced the batteries?

if so, you will probably have to reset the connect buttons on the base and the keyboard... this can usually be found on the back of the keyboard, and sometimes you have to use a pen to poke it... but i think on this model it may be on the front... look near the led light for a for a power on/off button or a reset button.

hope that helps!

The number lock feature is enabled. You should see an indicator for the Num Lock (lit when on) that is next to the Caps Lock indicator.

You should be able to disable the lock by pressing Fn and Num Lock together on the keyboard. (On some Sony Vaio keyboards, type CTRL+ALT+NumLock or Shift+NumLock.) The number lock should be at the top of the keyboard near the F1-F12 keys. Sometimes the key is shared with the Scroll Lock function (otherwise it will be nearby). It's really easy for the Number lock to be enabled on some Sony keyboards; just some dirt between the keys can enable it when you didn't turn it on intentionally.

I hope this helps.

(I don't have the VGP-WKB1 wireless Sony keyboard and can't find a good picture of it to find the Num Lock key for this model.)

How to know the Cap Lock is on or off for my Microsoft wireless keyboard 4000?

I don't have one of these keyboards, but there is usually a small led built into the caps lock key to indicate the lock is on, Push the caps lock key, and observe if any leds are changing state. If they are, it's the indicator led.
Otherwise, you will have to open Wordpad and type...to see the state of the key. It's possible the led isn't working, so check it's state in Wordpad.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

simply when caps lock key is engaged all you type is always printed in capital letters.in num lock without you can not use numeric keys that are located on right side of your keypad.uyou can always use your numeric keys which are up to ur alphabeticl keys.

Keyboard locks into all CAPS

Just a thought...one time I had a button that kept stiking itself with out me touching it...I removed the keys aroud it, only to find a tooth pick had found its way into my keyboard. Everytime I would hit any of the keys around it, it would also hit that button too. Dont know if this is your problem but worth a look!!

A key (which one?) changes the letters all keys type

You're hitting SHIFT and CTRL -- which changes the keyboard input method, i.e., for French keyboard, or for DVORAK keyboard, or for Scandinavian keyboard.

Access CONTROL PANEL, and use REGIONAL settings to "uninstall" all keyboard-layouts that you _never_ use.

Keyboard not typing

Try just hitting Num Lock.

Hold Fn and hit Num Lock.

Hold Fn and hit the blue "lock icon" on the keyboard.

Either of these should solve your problem.
