Recently upgraded to email through yahoo. I cannot send out an email. When I hit the send button, my email goes to draft and a page comes up with squiggly letters and numbers telling me to deciper and type in the figures and hit continue. If I do this, it takes me to another page. I cannot get out of this and have to closeout. However, when Igo back in my email, I go to my drafts and try to send and go through the same **** again. It is vicious circle. How do I get rid of this?

Please check if the emails you send are located on Sent or Draft folder, if they're at Draft folder it means they're saved to send later, if they're at send folder maybe your account at Yahoo email server has some trouble and it should be reported to Yahoo.
They will only go to the draft folder if you accidentally click the Save to Draft option instead of Send. It is very easy to do! If an email has been sent it will go, by default, to the Sent folder. If you locate the email that you have replied to or sent then highlight it and then right click on it a drop down list will appear. Select and click the View Full Headers option at the bottom of the list. This will give a popup window containing header info. If you read through it will show the following:
From which should be your email plus the date and time
a whole bunch of misc characters
From with your name / email address shown
Subject – whatever the email subject was
To – Name / email address of who you sent the email to or replied to
Content Type – plus some unintelligible info
Content Length – which is the true size of the email plus any attachments.
If you can see this then it conforms that you message has been successfully sent from you email account. Note: It does not show or guarantee that the email has been received or read at the recipients end.
The message was never actually sent. Make sure you actually sent the message by checking in your Sent folder. Is it there? If not, you might not have sent it. Do you remember seeing the "Mail Sent" confirmation page that appears after clicking "Send"? It's a page that confirms your email message has been sent successfully. The message was saved as a draft. Did you click "Save Draft" by accident? It's the button right next to "Send." Check to see if you saved a draft by clicking your Draft folder. The message was not addressed properly. You might have accidentally entered a different email address than the one you intended, or entered a typo that actually turns out to be a real email address. Check to see if this happened by looking in your Sent folder. Take a close look at the address information. Did you write something weird? The message was delayed. Most messages are delivered within a few minutes. But messages can sometimes be delayed while in transit due to heavy Internet traffic or routing problems. This kind of delay can last for several hours or more. Other possibilities. Occasionally, interruptions or disruptions in email transmissions over the Internet render your message undeliverable. This is very rare, but it does happen. Unfortunately, aside from waiting, there is no way to know for certain whether a message has been delayed or whether it has been rendered undeliverable. The best solution is to re-send your message. You can find it in your Sent folder.
