Welcome to Fixya! You can go into the Settings and the Scan Menu should have a Manual Setting. Go into the Manual Setting and Reenter the 3 and 4 Channels. Scanning will not Pick up these Channels as they are Not Active Stations on the Network. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

There should be a Menu button available on the TV. Go there and select the program to rescan channels.

It is also possible that the TV will automatically recognize the cable box channel once connected to the TV and turned on.

Reply what you find and I will help you further.

You can download the manual from the website also. It describes how to set up AutoProgram, but I basically described it in my original post.

How do I find a video to hook up my Samsung TV? Model BN68-04027A-03 The TV was a Xmas gift and did find a video and now I can't find it Tx. Wanda

Page six (6) indicates the back panel of your Plasma TV has two HDMI inputs, one component (RGB) and a specialized AV input/output connector. The latter requires a cable that is popular in Europe. Adapters to use it with US standard S-Video and RCA composite video are difficult to locate.

HDMI and component cables are available at big box stores (Best Buy, WalMart etch) but are much cheaper from generic internet sellers.

I am not sure about the second half of your question concerning "get to channel 3 to get to all other channels).

I must assume you have told the TV to "scan" for other channels (cable or over the air (OTA) with the black antenna/RF cable connected directly to the back of the TV.

If you have done so I am guessing you have connected the antenna cable first to a RECORDER or CABLE BOX. In many cases, these will only output channel 3 or 4 and block all other channels when turned on. In order to see other channels, you will need to buy a 2-way RF splitter so that both the recorder or Cable box can be connected at the antenna cable at the same time. Please note, doing so will mean you cannot see the output of the recorder or cable box on channel 3 or 4 but must use its the video/audio (HDMI, component, composite, S-Video) outputs from it to the TV. Again, this splitter is available from big box stores or the internet.

I just got cable and I cant get the channels to come in as cable channels. I lost my manual and have a universal remote?

Hi gail dahl,
I am happy to help.
From the Video Menu the Tuning Band must be set to Cable and not to AIR or Antenna. You will nee to run Auto Scan for channels from the Menu also.
I have provided a link to download the manual. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=KDL40XBR2&LOC=3

Olevia tv erased all channels accidently

BEVERLYQC::
How do you " accidently erased all my chanels " from a tv??
Was the TV connected to a 'cable box' ?
Was the TV conected to 'air waves' or antena input.?
If the TV is attacned to a cable box, temperly remove the cable box INPUT wire, attache an antenna to the IMPUT AND AUTOSCAN WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL
If the TV cannot 'autoscan' in 'air wave' reception...goto menu and set input channel to ch.3 or see if there is a switch in the back that can change to ch.3 or ch.4

You should get all the 'air wave' chanels which will include ch.3 & ch.4
