Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I had a game stuck in there and took apart the console very carefully. I retrieved the game but I can't get the plastic piece to go down so I can put a game in. I tried holding the Eject button for 45 secs. and that didn't work. When I push the Start button on the console it sounds like it is starting, the light turns green then to yellow and then to a flashing red. Can I do anything to fix it? If not, where do I send it to get repaired? Brenthow in Brooklyn
You will have to crack it open again like you did before, when you have the metal case and the top guide cover off you will see 4 little rollers , two on each side, these guide the disk in. .
(with the console front facing you) in th middle you will see the offending white stopper, DONT TRY AND FORCE IT DOWN !!! this will really bugger it up.
the problem is , the system thinks there is still a disc in there , so were gunna trick it o.k ?
to do this you need the system on. for the sake of your eyes put the round white cup with the magnet in it over the lens, magnet side up.
VERY IMPORTANT !!! do not touch anything other than i say.....zap!
turn it on and touch the sensor to load it up (hold the cover over it to locate it exactly)
in front of the right front roller you will see a white stick poking up that has its own little track it can travel around. gently guide that stick back , you should notice the system starting to read and all the rollers will slide open (you may have to help them a little (touch only the rollers)
when there all back , you system thinks theres a disc in , so press the eject sensor (line it up with the cover again)
watch with joy as the white stopper drops down.

I had the same problem you have to make sure that everything in the blu-ray is lined up perfectally to get it to work. (You might have to take it apart and put it back together a few times)

You said that the power button turns green then to yellow and then starts flashing red? That means you have the yellow light of death!

SOURCE: disc will not eject
Disc stuck is not a big issue. Don't waste money to find someone to fix it yet! It may be a minor issue that you can be fixed by yourself.
Remember, you are not the only one to suffer this problem! Because I had help so many people to fix the same problem now. You are so lucky to be there. I share a guide for you - It make me like a pro to help my friends and many people. It is too expensive to send back to Sony repair if your machine is out of warranty!
I had solved the same problems after bought this guide. The author of the book is really kind and helpful to his customers. May be you can buy it and share what you have learned !

SOURCE: PLAYSTATION3 80 GB has lights flashing:green, yellow, green then flashing red.had a dvd disk that would not eject.i took it apart and removed disk.the dvd had some damage in one spot.playstation will no
Hi there James
it seems to me like you have the yellow light of death, but don't worry this is something that can be fixed.
You have two options here
Option1 you can send the console to SONY for $150, they will send you a refurbished model oh and all data may be lost. The whole process usually takes about 4-6 weeks.
Option 2You can fix the problem at home with a PS3 repair guide worth only $40 a 3rd of the cost of sony, the ps3 will be fixed within the next hour or 2.
Hope this helps
