Question about Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera
Had 3 bent pin on the cf card reader. I straitened them out and it still has a CF error flashing. The cf card slides in and out now and they look to be aligned pretty well. Also when plugged in USB to PC it shows the camera but no pictures.
is this resetable?
I dont think the pin broke from the board. But i guess thats a possibility. -Jeff
The problem with your camera is very common with that darn old CF port. the bad news is that the cf card is soldered on to the main board and if that pin moves back just a hair it can come disconnected from the main board. And if it happen to rip up one of the connectors than your in a world of hurt. I repair these all the time and it could be as simple as soldering the pin back on the board "lets hope" I charge $90.00 to do that. but if your really good with a micro soldering iron and some good flux you can disassemble solider and reassemble the camera in about a hour or two. If the entire socket has to be replaced you are looking at about 185.00 or if you have a de solider / rework station and about two hours and do not rip up one of those post. main board replacement will run you about 250.00 to 300.00 give or take a little just depends on how much a board is. If you want me to repair this for you let me know. email@example.com
