I am also having this problem. I have a TMobile, Blackberry 7105t and i
can send messages but not receive any. Tmobile and RIM have said the
problem is on Gmail's end, and we cannot figure out what is going on.
Is there anyone that can help out??

The same thing occurred for me this morning (Dec. 13).
I purchased a Verizon Wireless BlackBerry 8703e on Saturday, set up my
gmail account on the phone, everything was working great.
As of 2 am this morning, my phone has not been receiving gmail
messages. The last message received by the blackberry was timestamped
1:59 a.m. (EST). The email was received 12:14 a.m. (EST). I can still
send messages out from my gmail account via my blackberry and they show
up as having come from gmail, but I am currently not receiving any new
gmail messages on my blackberry. I even disabled the blackberry filter
to see if I would receive my own sent mail. That's not showing up
either.
POP settings have been enabled on my phone since the beginning
After spending about 40 min. on the phone with a Verizon tech, and
going through a test of the whole phone, we found that the phone picks
up everything but incoming gmail messages, leading the tech to believe
that it may be a problem with the gmail servers. Has anyone else
started experiencing the same problem? I hesitate to take more drastic
action - like wiping the account and resetting it on the blackberry if
there's no need, but this has quickly become a hugely frustrating
problem.
Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i'm having the same problem on the new blackberry pearl from cingular.
it was working fine, but all of a sudden it stopped receiving emails.
i can still send from the blackberry, but i don't get new messages.
i tried disabling POP and renanbling for new messages, but that didn't
work. i also went so far as to try wiping my blackberry (luckily i've
only had it a few days), but that hasn't helped. i set up another
gmail account with the blackberry, and that one works fine, but the
original account with which i was having problems still isn't working.
any other ideas?

I was having the same problem, being able to send from my blackberry
but not receive. I have been receiving gmail on my phone since April
so I knew it wasn't a setup issue. I spoke with Verizon and they were
able to reset my settings. They let me know they had to service the
blackberry servers which caused a problem with gmail. I'm no tech
wizard, but I do know that my blackberry wasn't receiving this week and
after speaking with Verizon now it is. Maybe just call your carrier.

try sending an email from your blackerry to your gmail account and then
test using the reply back to your blackberry. If this works, look
carefully at the email address you initally used for your blackberry(
might be a typo error somewhere)
If it fails , examine the Header of the email ; show options original for smtp traffic from gmail mail domain out and then reply
into the blackberry domain (O2, Vodaphone ,etc) in comparison for the
sent from blackberry to the reply to blackberry, with the settings
suggested above by w??r17 ??.
there could be clue in the reply path where this is failing, as your
settings might be correct but a service redirector server/smtp relay
could be down somewhere outside of your control.

What is the error message?
2. Check these important settings:
a. Password Authentication (or POP secure authentication) is not
selected.
b. Change the server timeout time from 1 min to 5 min
c. POP3 SSL is selected.
d. POP3 port number is 995.
e. Change the incoming server to pop.googlemail.com
3. Do you have a firewall blocking the connection? Email virus
checking? Popup Blocker? Temporarily disable them.
4. Update Outlook to latest configuration. Outlook 2002 should have
SP3. Outlook 2003 should have SP2.
5. Did you wait a day for POP to get enabled in Gmail servers?
