One cartridge missing!

There are six cartridges; however, the supervisor does not want to order the yellow cartridge. Can the printer operate without the six cartridge?

Sorry mate, you dont have a Designjet 500, the 500 has 4x (CMYK), it will not print without all four cartriges being present. Assuming you have a T610 ?? the same applies.

Its best to leave all the cartridges in the printer even if they are empty. the printer will continue to print but with the absence of yellow any color printing might be off color. black and white printing should be unaffected.

I have a color printer hp office jet 7130 all in one and its only printing in cyan. is the printhead off? or broken can it be fixed and how much would it cost?

Go to paint create black, cyan, megenta & yellow images & print it, observe which colors are not printing,If back missed replace black cartrige, if any color missed out of remain three replace colour cartridge. There is no option to switch off the catridges & printer can recognise the faulty cartridge and it will show on displays.
You can order cartridges online.

Hi Good day!!! try this trick ^_^ open the cover of your printer to see the print head, now turn off your printer you will see your print head is moving when it moves to the center pull out the power cord of your printer ( this trick is about good timing) if success the print head is now in the center now remove the ink cartridge (note don't installed the new cartridge yet) now turn back on you printer without the cartridges, your printer will recognize that the cartridges are missing, ^_^ and finally your printer will find the your inks after that insert it according to its location.

Shut down your printer by pressing Simultaneously Cancel + OK + Black + Color.

My printer is not printing. it will run the paper

I see you don't have much knowledge about printers. It always helps to know something about your printer. It seem you have a color printer. Usually a color printer has two cartridges. Black cartridge and color cartridge. The color cartridge usually contains three colors; cyan, yellow and magenta. If the black cartridge is empty, you won't see black text in the printed paper. Print a small photo and see. If it has all the colors, but looks dull (without proper black color), that means only the black cartridge is empty. If it is greenish, the magenta ink is missing. Generally orange colored printouts suggest cyan is missing. Likewise, purple color means the yellow ink is missing. If you installed the printer properly using the CD from the printer manufacturer, you will be notified when the cartridge is empty or close to run out of ink. But if Windows automatically installed your printer, then the system won't give such information. From the information you have supplied, I believe your blck cartridge is empty or missing. Oh, I almost forgot to say, some manufactures sell some printers (for example some Canon Pixma models) with only the color cartridge. Switch on the printer and open the printer cover. The cartridges will move to the middle. You can check whether the black cartridge is missing. Do not hesitate to contact us for further help.

Colour cartridge missing but I only want to print

No you cannot. Each one of your cartridges is smart chipped. When this cartridge registers as empty it acts as an on/off switch thus turning the printer off.'

You need to replace the empty cartridge in order to print.

Go printer settings and check option to print only black.
