Check the back of your TV for external input connections. Usually there will be one to three connections available for the various types of cables. Check the back of your DVD for the output connections, usually one to three as on your TV. Choose one and use the cable type that matches the DVD output and the TV input connections and you are done.
You are going have to soldered a new coax connector into the tuner, which is not an easy thing to do. It would be a lot easier just to replace the tuner. Check with Andrews Electronics, and get someone knowlegeable in electronics to help you with the soldering.
We also don't have a remote. We hooked a DVD/VCR combo to the Samsung combo by attaching the cable from the cable line to the DVD player and an additional cable from DVD to TV and it used to work but after we lost the control, the DVD can only be listened to but not seen. The VHS from the DVD player works perfectly though.
When we had the remote (before connecting the other combo) we used line-in to see a DVD or VHS using the yellow red and white cables from the Samsung to the other player.
open back up the set and look closly at all of the plug connections and cables as you might not have pulled one out all the way but may have in inadvertantly pulled on a cable of one of them and pulled one out have way or just a little. My freind it happens to the professionals all the time. Make sure you check all the plugs on the VCR as well as the tv that they are instraight and flush. Good Luck
