Windows is running in "limited use phase", the reason could be

  • non activation before 30 days of installation
  • pirated copy
the windows version that you're using is not a geniune copy. Please contact your computer's vendor if the machine came pre-loaded when you purchased it. Or re-install windows with a geniune product key.

'you may be a victim of software counterfeiting" is displayed on my pc, and the wallpaper is dead, showing a black background, i need help please

This usually means that you have bought your computer from a dealer that has used the same windows key on several computers. You can either complain to them, or contact microsoft and purchase a valid key.

Hi , i have a problem with my windows because whe...

You made a mistake by activating your windows update...

That message will always appear after windows made an automatic updates.. The reason why microsoft detected that your software is victim of software piracy is because you use a non license product key on your windows operating software...

My suggestion is that you reformat your computer and install again windows operating system...

After successful set up of windows... deactivate the windows update...how? on control panel, doule click Automatic updates.....then click turn off automatic updates.. click apply..

that's it. t protect your pc from being detected..

Much appreciated if you rate this help.. thanks..

My pc isnt woking normally.Every time i stat up, a small balloon pops up saying: you may be a victim of software confeiting. This copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation. Can some one give...

This occurs if the serial key that you used to install windows is widely availible online for other people to access. To solve this click on the ballon next time you see it and it will walk you through aquiring a authentic copy of windows for you computer.

Victim of software couterfeting

Sounds like you're running a black listed registration code. If you got the serial with your PC call into Microsoft to activate or purchase a valid copy of XP.

Software counter Problem

If your copy of windows is legitimate, re-activate it. the deactivation may be caused by hardware changes, or virus activity

Microsoft article on activating windows (there will be a phone option) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307890

If you cannot get the activation to com up go to command prompt

Start-Run-type"CMD"-press "ENTER"
type oobe/msoobe /a
the activation process should start.

Good Luck, hope this helps

Hi Shilpa,
Thanks for sharing your problem with details.
there are two reasons for the messege you get,
1. you are using at least one or more pirated software
2. Your system is infected with a deady virus.
To resolve this in administrator login:-
  • Please try to start your system in safe mode (Press F8 while system boots)
  • Try to uninstall undesirable Sw
  • Reboot system in Normal mode
  • control panel --> administrative tools --> Event viewer
  • note down the red indicated errors and notedown corresponding programs/tasks
  • Open task manager and disable those tasks
  • Uninstall the tasks those are reported in error
  • Clean registery using cCLeaner or SystemMechanic
  • update browser and update your messenger
Even if you have problems please write or call me
