problem in hot water tap
hot water solenoid not activating to let water in
to prove either switch the hoses on the taps and press cold water wash
that proves the tap
then press hot wash and that proves the solenoid
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I read that it is new but it's still worth carrying out the checks below!
If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(
(Presumably under guarantee/warantee? Give them a call first, though!)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
HI - THE WASHER WILL BE OK WITH COLD WASH ONLY, NOTE WHEN YOU TURN THE MACHINE ON THE WATER SECTION WOULD HAVE THREE LEDS - COLD ON BOTTOM - WARM - MID & HOT - TOP MOST.
WOULD THIS BE THE CASE? IF IT BE - THEN SELECT COLD ONLY & SHOULD WORK FINE - THERE IS A WAY TO CHANGE THE DEFAULT TO COLD WASH ONLY BUT WE NEED TO SEE IF IT WORKS FIRST BEFORE WE GO THER - IF THATS OK WITH YOU.
THE OTHER THING IS WHEN THE MACHINE STOPS THERE SHOULD BE SOME BEEPING FROM THE MACHINE - NOTE THEM IN ORDER FROM LEFT TO RIGHT WHICH HAS THE ONLY RED LED, WHERE THERES A LIGHT PUT 1 TYO REPRESENT IT - NO LIGHT PUT A 0, POST IT & I WILL SEE WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU.
it could be a water valve fault. try to find out witch one is not letting water in. you can after doing so switch the wiring from the vavles hot to cold. run again. if you were not getting cold water and you switch the wires from cold to hot and now your getting hot when you have the cold on then you know that is a vavle problem. i hope you understand how i put that.
try to select on the cold water only.if is the hot water is continues to spray its means the water valve in hot water is shorted and need to replace the new one, call the authorized service center to fix it
I would have thought it was the board too! does it beep when it stops? if it does then it should be putting up a fault code.top row of lights..CHeck that you have both the hot & cold hoses connected & turned on at the taps.even if you are not useing hot water to wash with, turn them both on anyway. Some machines require this regardless of wether you are useing hot.The reason for this is F&P have built into their machines to give a little squirt of hot water to maintain a certain level of cold wash.Make sure also that hot hose is going to hot valve & cold to cold.
The cold water valve could be faulty. It's quite possible that the valves haven't changed. If you don't need hot water put the HOT hose on the COLD tap and wash on 'hot' or 'warm' you'll need to rinse on hot or warm or the machine wont open the 'hot' valve which is now delivering cold water!!!! Enjoy.........Nomess
most inlet water hoses have screens in them. You could remove the hose from the back of the washer and see if there is water flow. If there isn't, the hot water valve assembly is defective. These are solenoid operated valves that admit water into the tub. They can be accessed behind the washer after you remove the back.
