Access http://support.microsoft.com and search for "disable autorun". Follow those instructions before inserting any USB memory-stick into your computer.

This sounds like you have a virus, and there may be a virus on the pen drive that keeps putting itself on your computer everytime to plug it in.

go to http://www.norton.com/nss1 for Norton's Security Scan, or to Trend Micro's Housecall scan http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Run these scans and hopefully they will take care of the virus if that is what it is. Also before you run these scans, Format the Pendrive as it may be infected and plugging it back into the computer when it is still infected will just put he virus back on the computer. There isn't alot of virus information I could find on the multiple "i" folders being created, but it appears that is what it could be. What little information I could find has some long and lengthy steps to remove this virus.

Iiiii is a virus program that transfers to the system through the USB devices. It keeps on hanging the OS at startup because it is pin at startup area of the OS.

Alternnatively, you can remove it by using a software that can bring out all the startup programs. The root of iiiiiiii.exe is in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\XP6880 9. You can simply locate the root and get it deleted completely. Hold shift before deleting. Then empty the recycle bin and restart.

Good Luck

Since installing Windows XP, replacing Windows 2000 on my PC I get an error message on start up that there is an issue with my CD driver and that this may cause instability. The drive works OK and no...

the message is likely association with an item listed in the MSCONFIG startup group. The message itself seems harmless and if the system is running to you satisfaction, nothing has to be done.
If you want to try and get rid of the error, open MSCONFIG, startup tab and uncheck all items and reboot. if the issue is gone on reboot, then one of the items in the startup group is the issue, go back to MSCONFIG, re-check the top half, reboot see if the error comes back. Continue rechecking half the remaining items till you isolate the section the issue is being generated from, then unchecking just 1/2 of that section get doing halves till you isolate the 1 entry that is the issue (Usually can be done in 7 to 8 reboots) once determined, leave that item unchecked and if you have no further issues, you are done.
IF leaving that item unchecked causes another issue, the see if there is an updated driver for that item

Hello i've got a problem with my computer anytime iswitch on a message appear : file not found "systeme32/drivers/prgds.exe". how can fix this proble ? Thanks

Hi,
This is because your system was infected with a virus (prgds.exe) and the same virus was successfully removed from your system by the antivirus software. Now the path for the same virus file still exists in registry / windows startup list. As the virus file was removed and no more exists, you are getting this message. This is normal. no need to worry.
In Run prompt type the command "msconfig" and under the startup tab, uncheck the item which refers to this .exe file and restart your system. This will fix your problem.

Please rate the solution.
Thanks

When i start my computer i get two error loading messages: c:\windows\kep2at.dll and c;\windowsewaxoxiw.dll and they both say "the specidied module could not be found" i looked in regedit and didn't find...

go to start, run, type in msconfig and press enter. msconfig is the command to run an application to control startup items. Go to the startup tab at the top of this window, and uncheck any unnecessary items so they won't startup at reboot. If you are unsure what a process is, just google the name and it should give you details as to what application it belongs to, and you can make judgement if you need it or not. I would uncheck anything I wouldn't recognize.

My laptop(os windows xp) is infected with iiiiii.exe virus.

first thing to do is try to install and scan your pc with an antivirus program...if you have one already...update your antivirus program. restart your laptop and press F8 to enter safe mode, in safemode, start a full scan.

when finished, reboot back to normal mode then download CCleaner. Scan you laptop using CCleaner to remove the temp files and fix registry issues, you can also disable the startup programs that you do not need to start automatically in CCleaner.

CCleaner

In Addition, you could also install a antispyware program like Ad-Aware just to make sure.

Hope this helps.

If the machine is a Dell with DellControlPoint, open start, run then type msconfig and hit enter. Choose the Startup tab and find the startup item named "Dell" with the Command from "C:\Program Files\Dell\Dell Control Point\Connection Manager\Dell.UCM.exe" and uncheck the box. Hit Ok, then reboot your computer.

MOtherboard or Video card or Cables

I would go with the cheaper & say the video card. It wouldn't hurt to pull clean & reseat the card before buying another AGP.

Plz help me with my problem in my computer

Hi, Hardware wise this could be a memory issue. However, more often than not, it would be similar to a video problem that it either freezes or BSOD. Try reseating your mem sticks; OS wise, it may be corrupt drivers or XP startup files. Try to run in Safe Mode and check it if will load fully. If yes, you can start finding out anything out of the ordinary. If no also, then you may have to repair Windows; Virus wise, it may be that you have a virus or malicious software running at startup instructing your PC to shutdown. Try running in Safe Mode. If it will load, go to Start, Run, type "msconfig", Startup. Check all the programs that run at start up and uncheck those that you do not recognize. Reboot. If it will not run even in Safe Mode, you may need to reinstall/repair your Windows XP. Good luck and hope this be of some help to you.
