Question about Daltile Bathroom Accessories Resin Soap Dish Ceramic Tile & Stone

Installing a resin shower soap dish,

I have a resin soap dish made by "Fired Earth Ceramics". It has a perfectly flat back side. It's going to be mounted on Green Board. Will Liquid Nails be a satisfactory adhesive or would you recommend something better. The surrounding tile is being installed with mastic, but the mastic can says specifically not to use it to install fixtures.

Liquid nails will do the job but you can also use clear silicone provided both surfaces are dry.

You can use the grout that your gonna grout the walls with, put a glob of it on the back of soap dish and push it and move it around and remove the grout that pushes out,you can knock a hole in the center of the wall so when you push the soap dish in the grout will go into the hole and harden forming a ball bigger than the hole and when it hardens it's like a molly holding the soap dish on the wall really good, you should always use cement board instead of green board

The suction cups on my oil rubbed bronze soap dish are no longer tight enough to sick to the wall of my shower. it's been fine for over two years until now. can you buy new suction pieces or do i have...

Sometimes this happens when the suction cups are somewhat dirty.
Wet the suction cups, leave for some time, and wipe with a clean cloth until the suction side is shiny. If it is not shiny at places that suggest those places are not cleaned thoroughly. Wet again and wipe again until you get a shiny surface.
Check the wall where it was attached. If you see any patches wet the area and wipe with a clean cloth.
You can apply just a tad bit of oil (I use coconut oil) to the suction cups.

Try this - and let us know the results.
Thanks for using FixYa!

I have the same problem with my stone corner soap dish. It used to drain ok but recently water just sits on the dish and mold grows. Unless we get a good solution, I plan to drill holes into the dish to let it drain.

How install the soap dish

There are a couple of designs, one is surface mount and the other is recessed. Surface mount mounts with silicone (hard to imagine it would last) and the other installed similar to a tile, but using grout. The grout install gets a hole cut in the tiles, goop everything up with grout, and goosh it into the wall, clean same as you would when working with grout.

Both designs need support until the adhesive dries.

Caulk coming off in Corian stall shower

If you have the option of not using the shower for a while, I would put a dehumidifier in the shower to **** the mositure out from below. If cost is no object, you can go ahead and pull the base. The key to the caulk is to completely remove the old caulk, clean carefully and use a silicon based caulk. Be sure to let it dry properly (see caulk cure times on tube).

Listello resin 3 by 12 : tile;white grout stuck on the tile

yes, you should seal all tile with a 3-5 year sealer. there are many brands to choose from. excess grout should be removed with a sponge and water before it dries. clean food splatters with any safe kitchen cleaner.
