I suggest you at first create a new mal in yahoo and check that if it works or not. if the new mail works so you should go back to your old mail and check its setting, maybe you change some important settings!!
Good luck

For days I have not been able to receive emails from other yahoo senders. (All other emails come in as normal.) Today I sent out a test mail from my own account to myself, and after hours it has not shown...

Sounds Like you have a filter in place. Try far right options > more options > filters, you can build up to 100 filters. remove teh yahoo filter. if that's not it - yahoo has a help desk you can email.

My outging is not working

It can not be fixed today. Your account is temporary blocked for sending emails within a 24 hours period. But you can still receive and view your mails.

Yahoo Mail may have detected an unusual activity on your mail account, the reason why they block your sending option.

Your account will work again after 24 hours. You just have to wait.

But, you may find your luck if you report this issue to the Customer Care of Yahoo Mail as fast as it can be. From this link
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/postmaster/abuse_smtp.html
Fill up completely the Yahoo Help Form.
And click Submit button. In a few time your account will be able to send messages again.

Please come back and give me some ratings.

Thank You for using Fixya.

I use yahoo mail on my blackberry - I stopped receiving emails around noon today

I've got the same problem! I have been trying everything for 3 days! I even took my phone to a Sprint store and they gave me an email address: www.sprint.blackberry.com to go to. I did everything and I'm still not getting my yahoo emails! It's frustrating! Help!

I am not able to send emails today. I use Outlook Express and although I have not changed any settings and everything has worked in the past - today I can receive but not send?

Being able to send but cannot receive means that you cannot connect to your SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol) server. SMTP is used by Outlook in sending out emails.

Your outgoing mailserver is defined in your settings so to check if you can connect to its SMTP, you need to open a command prompt and type:

telnet you-mailserver-here 25

It should give you a new command prompt with a welcoming SMTP above. If it gave your a request connection failed, then most probably the smtp service is down.

Does your email has a Webmail interface? IF yes, try to send out your emails thru webmail temporarily until SMTP service port 25 is up. It is also advised that you inform your email administrator or service provider about this.

For further clarifications, please dont hesitate to ask me.

Have not received any emails for 8 hours, able to send

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Java script to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. If all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?s... click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.RICHARDM69
