Question about Samsung SyncMaster 930B 19" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
So my Sansung 930b just gave a blank screen today and the button led blinks very dimly. From what a few others have posted, it seems this is probably a power issue. I opened up my case and found this on the power board:
2nd picture is a closer look at the chip that burnt. On the other side of the board, there's a small brown smudge from the burn and the outside of the chip is fire scarred. I tried reading the number off the other (hopefully) identical 8 pin chip right nearby but from what I can make out:
Any of those 4's could be A's, 5's S's and 0 O's (and vice versa).
Yeah I took out the plastic, I still can't see the chip # and trying multiple combinations of the above didn't yield anything. I was able to find 1 person selling the IP-35135b power supply but it's reasonably expensive at $55.
Does anyone know if there's another way for me to find and replace just the chip? If not, judging from the picture and a description of the powered on behavior, does it sound like the power supply is the thing to replace? Thanks for your time.
I've been hacking on a few of these monitors at work... we have a bunch that are dead... I have not seen this particular chip burnt (yet), but have been replacing a lot of the capacitors. To confirm the chip ID numbers you were looking at, I saw 4502C & AA5N0, and yes, they're both the same. If it comes to the caps, they should all have a flat top... if any are domed or black or sooty on the top, that is a good indication it is bad. Hope you had good luck with this. I can/t help with replacing just the chip.
