Hi..there r various kinds of viewing available in ur
tv.In that if u see through the wide zoom option
ur picture will look good in the centre whereas in
both the sides it will be large. It looks like a cinema
screen. This is due to that wide zoom option.
In that case u view through normal option
which will show u in normal size.
thank u..

That means that one of the convergence ics had blown.

Sorry, my previous comment was for a different model, on your LCD there are no convergence ICs.

However the video chipset on the LCD control board is malfunctioning, that is the reason for the distorsion on the picture.

Try unplugging the TV for 30 minutes or so, to reset settings.

Try also switching input channels, if the problem is only on a particular device, change device output settings.

If you still have the problem you need to replace the LCD digital control board.

You can find replacement LCD control for about $75 from link below:

Picture size

I found the user manual online, and the pictures in it are really helpful and make this make a lot more sense, but:
1. Press [SCREEN MODE], to switch the TV aspect ratio.
2. Press [SCREEN MODE] repeatedly until the normal screen displays.
NOTE: • Some programs may not offer all display mode options.
4:3 Programming
[Sidebar] Sidebar displays a 4:3 picture at its standard 4:3 size. Sidebars will be displayed on the right and left edges of the screen.
[Full] Full displays a 4:3 picture at a 16:9 size, with horizontal elongation necessary to fill the screen.
[Cinema] Cinema displays a 4:3 picture at a 16:9 size, with less horizontal elongation necessary to fill the screen because a little bit of the top and bottom edge of the screen will be cut off.
[Wide] Wide displays the center of the picture as original size and the outer sides of the picture will be elongated. The size of the picture will depend on the original signal.
16:9 Programming
[Full] A picture is displayed at 16:9 size as it is.
[Zoom] Zoom displays a 16:9 picture without changing its horizontal and vertical ratio, at its maximum size.
[Cinema] Cinema displays a 16:9 picture with vertical elongation.
[Expand] Expand displays a 16:9 picture with horizontal elongation

Hello.
It does not look like there is something wrong with electronics in your TV. Most likely settings for picture are got messed up. It could be TV settings or source (cable box, etc. settings).
Using remote control of your TV find picture settings in menu and make sure it set to "standard" instead of "zoom", "stretch", "wide" etc. You might need to do the same with cable/satellite box menu. Some devices have button "picture" or "format" on remote control for this purpose.
You can also connect DVD player first and see if picture is stretched as well to determine if it is TV settings are wrong or it is outside of TV set.
Regards.

4.14.1 Understanding Viewing Features
Your LCD HDTV features four viewing modes and Picture-In-Picture (PIP)/Picture-by-Picture (POP) mode.
You can switch viewing modes using the remote control.
4.14.2 Viewing Modes
Normal Mode
The original 4:3 aspect ratio (1.33:1 source) is preserved, so black bars are
added to the left and right of the display image. Standard TV broadcasts are
displayed with a 4:3 Aspect Ratio. Movies in 4:3 Aspect Ratio may be referred
to as pan-and-scan or full frame. These movies were originally filmed in 16:9
(widescreen), and then modified to fit a traditional TV screen (4:3).
Wide Mode
When watching a standard broadcast or full-frame movie in this mode,
the display image is stretched proportionately to fill the TV screen.
When watching a widescreen (1.78:1 source) program or movie, the
display image fills the TV screen. If you are watching a widescreen
(1.85:1 or 2.35:1 source) program or movie, there will still be black
bars at the top and bottom.
Zoom Mode
When watching a widescreen (1.78:1, 1.85:1, or 2.35:1 source)
program or movie, the display image is zoomed proportionally to fill the
width of the screen. The top and bottom are cut off to remove most of
the source material’s black bars. This mode is good for programs or
movies with sub-titles.
Panoramic Mode
When watching a standard broadcast or full frame movie in this mode,
the 4:3 Aspect Ratio (1.33:1 source) display image is stretched
horizontally on the left and right sides to fill the TV screen. The center
of the image is not stretched.

Note: Viewing modes are saved based on input. For example, you lasted watched a DVD in widescreen
mode and then watched TV in standard mode. When you switch back to DVD input, the viewing mode
will return to widescreen.

Black marks

I am getting a black cloudy mark on the right side of the screen. It's not even on the part where a Wide screen picture would be, it starts at the wide screen area and gets darker going to the left towards the center. The TV is just over a year old. It's Wal-mart POS Ilo brand.
