Question about Pioneer DEH-2000MP MP3 CD AM/FM Car Stereo Head CD Player
I recently installed a Pioneer DEH-2000MP in a 2001 Olds Alero and it works great most of the time. It always works if the key is turned to assessory or when the car is turned off and the radio plays for about 10 minutes before the power is cut to it (like it suposed to). However, sometimes when going from assessory to actually starting the car (and drawing power through a different wire - red I think vs yellow when its on assessory), the radio will turn off and get no juice. There does not appear to be any loose connections on any of the wiring harnesses and though I have not checked with a volt meter, I don't think its the car. Has anyone had a problem like this. Could it be a loose wire or circuit board issue within the unit?
You will have to separate the red and yellow wires. they cannot run together. the red should be connected to the fuse box. there is a slot labeled batt on your fuse box under the dash. there is also an auxiliary wire in the stereo slot used by you factory set. use this for the yellow wire connection.
