Error code SC501 is not a fuser problem. It is the top paper feed tray. Take all of the paper out of tray 1 and turn the machine all the way off. Turn it back on. Code should be cleared. If it returns with no paper in it the paper feed station has a broken part and can only be repaired by replacing it.
Thats a problem with the fuser not sensing the right temperature.
Press the yellow clear all button, followed by 107 then press and hold the stop button until the screen changes. You should see a button on the screen that says. Copy SP. Press that.
Then power the machine off and on.
If that doesnt clear it then most likely you will need to replace the fuser thermistors.
Most of the time this reset will resolve it.

Power on and wait until the ready to print message appears on the operator panel.
Press "Select and the Down arrow button at the same time"
The following Menu is displayed"Reset Counter Fuser U4"
Press the right arrow button
Operator Panel will display "Fuser U4 Use the SEL to Reset"
Press the SELECT Button
Operator Panel will read "Clearing"
Press the Menu key to return to "Ready to Print Mode"
