Will not power up for more than 1 second. Without battery installed, will not power up at all

Sounds like battery is dead. Have you been having problems with power cord? When you plug in power cord with battery installed you should see a charging light. Maybe wiggle coord and see if you get some power. Toshiba, In my opinion is a great computer, but they do have a poorly designed power plug. They are forever being broken from the boards. I hope this helps and if it is a bad power socket, you can get them from Ebay for about $5. Good luck and have good day.

Can not trun my hp dv1217 notebook on even with the DC adapter.


1. Remove Battery
2. Remove all cables attached to the computer including AC Adapter
3. Hold on the power button for 60 seconds
4. Release power button and install the battery.
5. Power on the laptop
6. When Windows loads, attached the power cable

Acer aspire 6920 battery problem.. laptop only recognizes the battery and will not charge now... and only lasts a few minutes


1.Remove ,the battery and adopter from your machine.
2.And then press the power button form 36 Second.
3.And then refix your battery and adopter to your machine.
4.boot your system

How do I reset the camera.


Hi.

1.Turn off the camera.
2.Remove any memory card installed.
3.Remove all power sources (batteries and AC power) from the camera for at least 5 seconds.
4.Reinsert the batteries and close the Battery/Memory card door and/or reconnect the HP AC power adapter to the camera.
5. Verify if the camera works without an optional memory card.

NOTE: Resetting the camera returns all settings to the factory defaults. Any images stored in memory will be retained.

I cannot format the computer because the motherboards cd is gone, and the boot bios is blocked.


The CD is needed to install the drivers for the motherboard all the other utilities on it you can manage without. A getaround for you is to perform a backup your drivers onto a cd or USB memory stick and you can go ahead with your reformat.

My montitor on my laptop went off last night, after messing with the mouse for a minute, i shut it off, now it will not come back on. when i hit the power, the light on the battery button in the front...


1. Turn OFF the Computer, remove the Battery and disconnect the AC Adapter also.

2. Press and hold the Power Switch for 5 seconds.

3. Insert the Battery in the Computer an try turning ON the Computer.

4. If the issue persists, remove the Battery, press and hold the Power Switch for 5 seconds.

5. Connect the AC Adapter and try turning ON the Computer(without Battery).

NOTE: If the Computer turns on without the Battery, connect and charge the Battery for 24 hours.


6. Disconnect all external devices that are connected to the Computer.

7. Attempt to turn ON the Computer.

8. Remove any additional Random Access Memory (RAM) that was installed in the Computer.

9. Attempt to turn ON the Computer.

This should resolve the issue.

If the issue still persists, then service may requires to resolve the issue.
