What kind of RAM did you install? If the RAM should match the speed-limits of your motherboard. So if your RAM speed is, say, 667MHz and your board will only use 400MHz or 533MHz, you will need to get the correct speed. Check your user guide for the correct specs of memory for your particular model systems. Good Luck.

Can I do a memory upgrade on Sony VGC -LS 37E?

the specs for your computer, it states that it is equipped with 2gb of memory 2x1gb and max at 2gb, so I doubt that any higher memory upgrade installed would work, or else it would cause your system to crash or even damage it.

Just installed 2 2GB cards (Corsair VS2GB800D2) to replace the 1 1GB card in my emachines EL1200 series. Computer will not boot. replaced the old card and it booted right up.

Will it boot with only ONE of the 2GB memory-sticks installed?
Will it boot with ONE of the 2GB memory-sticks AND one of the 1GB memory-sticks?

Look closely at the 1GB memory-sticks.
Does the label show 'DDR266' or 'DDR333' or 'DDR400' or 'PC2100' or 'PC2700' or 'PC3200' ?
Do the 2GB memory-sticks have _identical_ information?
It's definitely _not_ acceptable to have "slower" RAM (smaller numbers) in the new RAM,
but it _might_ be acceptable to have "faster" RAM (larger numbers).

changing ram is good to make your computer more faster but sometomes it do cause harm, before you change your system was working fine, but you have already upgrade to a higher ram but now you recieve more crashes unlike before, may its time to re install your windows or have it reformated sudden changes in a computer hardware cause these problems this is incompatibility issues between the hardware and software that causes these problems to appear
