I have a HEL p-6 code on a xmt 304 how do I fix it

Sounds like a input power problem . Make sure voltage is correct coming to the unit and wired correctly. I checked a Miller welder recently ,auto link that would come on and weld but not good . Took cover off and it was wired wrong .

Xmt 304 it shows PPP PPP when in the mig selector

There were a couple options with that model, each with it's own manual.

Generally speaking though, the issue should localized to the switch- a wire may be broken, or if the unit has not been cleaned out/blown out with dry compressed air, it may simply be dirt, especially if the machine acts as if in pulsed mode for all of those settings. If no "HE.L" codes appear, I would look for a short in the switch, meltted wires, shorted wires, or the switch contacts themselves may be dirty and need some contact cleaner. If you have the model with an inductance control, make sure to spray that as well. Look for a small opening into the control to direct the spray.

If you do not have the manual, you can get it here for free:
http://www.millerwelds.com/service/ownersmanuals.php?model

While it is possible to service the circuit boards at the component level in the event of a component failure, parts are sometimes just not available, but that does not mean they cannot be serivced, just that you may need to canibalize another machine for certain pieces and parts. However with that said, most of the potential board failures would trip one of the "HE.L" codes..

I have a miller xmt 304 i bought it used. i have a 12vs wire feeder on it and im not getting power to it. any suggestions on what the problem could be

Hi:

Ok, let troubleshoot this one.

There is only two connectors on your 12VS wire feeder; the lead cable that goes to the + side of the XMT welding machine and the VS cable (Volt Sensing) that goes to you work piece joining the ground cable (don't forget the ground clamp).

a) The mode switch on your XMT must be on V-sense feeder.
b) Your 12VS feeder depending on what kind of wire you are using (innershield) negative side or gas wire + side.
That's it. If there i no spark, there is something wrong with your XMT.

If this was useful to you please vote. Thanks.

Miller plasma cutter not cutting

Hi:

Miller plasma are pretty realiable. Without more details; what you need to do is check the contact tip and the electrode if these ones are won, replace them. If still doesn't work; check your air pressure; main source must give you at leats 90 psi and 9 SCFM of flow,

Good Luck

When im welding the xmt 304 machine will arc out and the volts will say HE.L and the amps will say P.5 its like it loses ground what does the volts and amps mean when it says that.

Help 5 Display Indicates the right side of the unit has overheated.

The unit has shut down to allow the fan to cool it. Operation will continue when the unit has cooled.

If unit overheats, output stops, a Help 5 message is displayed, and cooling fan runs.

Wait fifteen minutes for unit to cool.

To avoid this problem Reduce amperage or voltage, or duty cycle before welding.

New Miller 211 Set it all up pluged in and no power at all . no lights no fan no drive motor , nothing?? Checked power supply , thats good.

did you check to see if there is a circuit breaker on the back? also should have two electrical connections inside it where you switch polarity depending on whether you're using flux core or are using shielding gas. i believe one of those cables comes directly from battery positive.
