Probably needs to be cleaned. Turn it upside down and take the bottom off that is holding the ball. Use a toothpick to pick the gunk out and then wipe the ball off with a damp washcloth. Let it air dry or wipe with a clean lint-gree cloth. Should fix it up. mine does that all the time.

SOURCE: Mouse sticking

AAHHHHHHHHH, quite often optical mice have PTFE non-slip pads under them which aid the physical movement of the mouse. Look under the mouse - are they missing? If so, spares are hard to come by, and optical mice are relatively cheap nowadays. Try using the mouse on a surface thats even and flat (a 210gsm bit of card may do it). Hope this helps

3 things you can do one is change out the batteries two clean the mouse it may be sticking and three get another mouse it may be defective in the circuitry. More than likely it is the battery unless it has been dropped or it is old and worn down. Thanks for using FixYa! please vote for me thanks John

The mouse doesn't move smoothly it jumps around the page and sometimes doesn't move at all.

This could caused by batteries, a dirty detecting mechanism, or a bad signal. If the mouse has replaceable batteries, put some new ones in. Now turn the mouse over, If it's an optical mouse there'll be a little lens. Put a little glass cleaner on the tip of a cotton swab, and thoroughly clean the lens. Use the dry end of the swab to buff it. If there's a ball, take it out and clean the rollers. There may be dust wound so tightly around the rollers that it seems like they were made that way. Finally, make sure the mouse is close enough to the receiver, and that the receiver isn't blocked. You may try plugging the receiver into a different usb port. Cleaning the mechanism is probably the most likely thing that you should try first.

Cursor sticks and cannot be made to move without reboot. Sometimes disconnecting the mouse ane reconnecting solves the problem

Hello Sir, Hi, that is a problem with the wired mouse, inside that mouse cable has 4 wires, as you use the mouse, one or two of the wire will eventually break, when this happens, time to replace that mouse.

Mouse is sticking and not moving

With the computer on try to unplug it from the computer, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. Many times this will do it. If not, unplug it and then plug it into a different usb port. The computer will think it is a new device and reinstall the drivers for it in that port. It's a simple solution ,but works many times. Good kuck.
