I need a diagram

Hello, I was trying to re-assemble a gateway g5-233 model. But i been having some problems with setting the hard drive an the power wires back in. So I was wondering if you had a picture of the inside of the g5-233 flat desktop version. I found it at a friends house all of it appears to be there, I just want to bring it back to life. Thank you/

Check on the motherboard make and model number.
Type this information into Google and then go to motherboard site, and they should have updates and a manual, which will have all the required information, hopefully.

Where is the hard drive on a gateway all in one computer. i opened it up and dont recognize which part it is.

Hello.

Which model Gateway all in one do you have?

I have a Gateway ZX4800 and the hard drive is under the center rear cover. You have to remove the smaller panel that sticks out near the base of the PC (where the RAM is located) first then the center panel that is taller will pull out and reveals the hard drive cage. unbolt the hard drive cage, remove the SATA and power cables and you can then replace the hard drive.

On other All In One PC's (like the HP TouchSmart series) there is a rear cover that is under the desktop stand that can be removed and the hard drive is in a metal rectangle cage on the left side.

So, in almost all AIO systems, the hard drive is accessible by removing one or two panels off the back of the unit. RAM for these units will also be visible too.

hello rpn!

looks really your motherboard is gone. but try also this: disconnect powersupply from mains, remove back up battery, leave over night and try next day. maybe comes up if luck is with you.

in case, as long you have your operation systems (e.g. windows xp) key license number, generally it is no problem to use delivered cd's with another stock mobo, but in some cases it wont work, you have to try. i can help you step by step, even if some drivers will be needed for new mobo, i can support you, also if the OS cd wont work - there is possibility to download nearly everyone from a torrent (dont worry it is legal, as long you use your own license). feel free to contact me here under your topic.

Hi, I have formatted the SATA hard drive in my Gateway GT 5408 with Intel motherboard D945GCFG1. I want to load XP pro instead of the original Vista which was on it. Do I need to change the Bios or install...

No, you do not need to install a new driver as long as that is the same sata hard disk tha used to work in your Gateway computer. Just boot into your windows xp installation cd and let the setup continue.

Should you need further assistance, please let me know.

I am replacing my hard drive (Gateway GT5694) since the original crashed. I didn't realize the replacement would have a jumper to install and therefor didn't look at the original close enough to see if it...

The new hard drive should be set to master drive, if not just make sure the jumper is in the master slot. A small diagram should be on the hard drive. Then make sure you connect the hard drive to the end ribbon cable connector.

A diagram to assemble and dis- assemble to replace a new hard drive

http://repair4laptop.org/contrib/gateway_solo_9550/gateway_solo_9550_notebook_disassembly.pdf Will give you the diagram....but it shouldn't be needed. Bottom of laptop, with hinges facing away from you. Lower Right corner there is a 3 and a half inch panel. 2 screws removed, lift panel. There's your hard drive. If it's got screws holding it down...it should...then remove those screws, and gently slide it right until its out of the mount. reverse steps to install new one.

My gateway is not turning on!?

The most likely possibility is you need to replace the power supply. If you have a power supply tester you can check it. If not you may want to borrow or purchase a new one. They, for the most part, are not that expensive. I hope this helps. Joe

make sure that the hard drive is on one cable the ide and that the power is run to it, there is also a jumper setting on the back of the hard drive, you want this little jumper to be on the "master" setting. lastly resetting the bios to defaults will ensure that bios will detect the old hard drive. it will prompt you what key to press to enter bios. generally the key will be F2 F1 delete or TAB try pressing each of these before the computer beeps. in all reality there is much more to replacing a hard drive then plugging it in windows will need to be reinstalled as well as the drivers will be designed to run off the other computer

Flashing Green Light next to voltage switch

For problem #1 there is a MBR (Master Boot Record) problem, meaning that Windows is unable to find Windows. This can either be a software problem or a hard disk failure. If you have your Windows XP disc boot up with it in your cd drive and when it starts press 'R' for repair as this wil repair system files and you will not lose any settings or doc's. When you are running go to your hard disk drive manufacturer and run a diagnosis and repair if neccassary. Problem #2 should sort itself out if left unplugged from the mains supply and the power supply unit for 15 mins or so. If not there is a power supply that needs replacing.
