Question about Goodman GMS90703BXA Heater

Heater is trying to turn on but flames keep on turning off

My heaters is blowing cold air and at the same time the flames are trying to turn on and stay on but it only stays on like 10 seconds and it continues trying to turn on.

Hello, looks like you limit switch keeps opening because your furnace is overheating, Check your air filter and blower wheel to make sure it is not dirty and make sure you blower motor is moving at the proper speeed. Usually when air flow is cutoff the limit switch will open.

you are talking about the pilot light that on this heater is all ways on to light the burner when you turn the thermosat up , its safe to leave on there is safety device on the heater if the pilot goes out to shut off the gas , also when you come home you just turn up the stat if you are cold , if you turn this off you will have to relight it every time , there will be air in the line and be a pain to light up,

plus your house will be very cold when you came home after a days work or a night out

Fan runs backwards forces flame to blow back into heater instead


cracked heat exchanger not cheap replace unit ur motor just doesnt change rotation on its own

Monitor heater model 41 keeps turning off during cold spells (AK)


Can you give us more info? How long does it run before quitting? Have you ever been close when it quits? Do you hear a thumping noise when it quits. Can you see the flame?
