There should not be a limit. What happens when you try to read off the disks?

Go into your BIOS when you first turn on the computer and make sure the first boot device is the cd-rom, save the changes, exit and then see if it read the restore disk. If not then let me know and I'll help you further.

HP desktop running windows 8 tries restore from disc now wont get past windows setup

I don't know what caused windows 8 to try to restore but usually if the pc is still running then the option is from the pc itself. if you happen to use an install disk but doesn't work your hard disk could be bad.
give me some more details i might help you some more.

Hp touch smart all in one desk top pc shuts off after 5 - 10 minutes.

Check to see if your power saving settings is set to Shutdown/Sleep or go into Hibernation after a specific time limit. Other solution is you installed an incompatable Software program version for your Windows Version.... This will cause all sorts of problems with booting to freqent shutdowns with out reason.

System wont restore to factory settings

I assume your System Restore, in System Properties, System Protection isn't enabled/on. Use this procedure to turn on: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Turn-System-Restore-on-or-off for future use. Also you may want to do a Disk Clean to free-up disk space for future System Restore space, if necessary. Use CCLEANER freeware at: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ This freeware program has some very useful tools, Look at TOOLS, STARTUP, to disable ALL unnessary startup programs to speedup starts and running of your machine.

Evesham Axis RD A-List failed HD - can't boot from CD

Sounds like the hdd is failing. Do you have a restore disk or OS disk? Or was there a restore partition on the failing hdd? Either way, it looks like your going to need a new hdd and at least a restore or OS disk. Not real familiar with the Evesham Axis.

My eMachines T3882 with Windows XP just reboots over and over

Sounds like a sick hard drive. When it starts to reboot, press F8 and choose Windows Diagnostic Test. It will show a hard drive failure if one exists. If it finds a hard drive error, the hard drive is junk and needs replacing. Once replaced, you can run your restore/recovery disk to install Windows back to the condition it was in when you bought it.

You can try pressing f4 at startup screen and seeing if it gives you the advanced option to factory restore, which would be located on hard drive.

Or

You can call HP (compaq) and ask them to ship you the restore disks, I think they charge shipping only for this option.

Go into the BIOS (watch your POST screen as you turn the computer on for instructions if you don't know how to get in there, it will say something like "press F2 to enter setup") and set your computer to boot from your CD drive. Put your restore or XP disk in the CD drive and reboot.

I am trying to restore my system using the disks and i put the disk in the system and it reads it ands says it is done. there are four disks it needs and it wont let me do it.

There is another way to do a system restore using the computer by itself. Try going to the start menu-> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore. This should work more efficiently

Need restore

Alot of manufactures will include restore disks. If the model above is your model it should have come with them. However if you don't have them anymore you will need to order them from the manufacture either on-line or over the phone. Hope this helps.
